Ella Grace {10 months}

Dear Ella,

I don't know how it happened, but another month has passed with the blink of an eye. It is now pretty close to impossible to get a good picture of you during these little monthly photo shoots of ours. You are on the move and absolutely, positively do. not. want. to. be. still. But we wouldn't have it any other way...you are just an active girl! (But please excuse the quality of this month's pictures...I tried really hard!!!)

Height: 28.25 inches (54 %ile)
Weight: 18 pounds, 9 ounces (50 %ile)
Head circumference: 17 inches (24.2 %ile)

{note: since this is a non-doctor visit month, I have absolutely no clue how accurate these are. Especially since our scale is being incredibly schizophrenic and told me I weighed 103 pounds this morning...which I'm pretty sure I haven't weighed since I was like 9).

Clothes: I think you should win an award for being able to fit into the most clothing sizes this month!  Your 0-3 month North Face jacket from last winter still fits you, as do some 3-6 onesies and dresses. The majority of clothes that fit you the best are 6-9 months. We are slowly but surely making the 6-12 month (News flash! Gap runs big! Nobody told me!) and even some 12 month (because I bought you all these Christmas outfits last year, thinking that would be your size at this point!) clothes work by rolling up the sleeves, etc. You are still in size 3 diapers.

Nicknames: Elle Belle, Peanut/Peanut Butter, Shim Shim/Shim/The Shim/Baby Shim/Shim of the Shims...where this Shim thing came from I have no clue, and I'm pretty sure 99.9% of you reading this right now think I am absolutely off my rocker.

Milestones: Talking a lot more! You babble "dadadadadada" but I still don't think you know what it means, so I haven't counted it as your official first word yet. You also say "nananana," "gggggg," "gagagaga," and I think I may have heard you even say "mamamama" once or twice?! You are still constantly on the move, and your crawling has gotten much faster! Your pulling up has improved too; you can pull up on most things using just one hand, and you can pull up on things that aren't necessarily stable (like peoples' legs). On Thanksgiving, Grandpa and Daddy saw you stand by yourself for a very, very quick split second before you figured out what you were actually doing and fell down! You love to stand, though, and I know you could probably do it by yourself...but you are still a little hesitant about it! You also are ready to walk! You push your musical walker all over the house...Daddy and I have a feeling you'll be walking by Christmas!

{I call this her "paint me like one of your French girls" pose}

Sleep: We are back on track with you being an awesome sleeper! Of course, as I write this, you are crawling around in your crib, refusing to nap...but most days you do a little of that before you actually fall asleep. You take an hour to an hour-and-a-half long nap in the mornings, and then another hour-and-a-half to two hour nap in the afternoons. You go down for the night around 7:30 and you wake up around 7AM (sometimes earlier, but I refuse to get you until 7! You just babble to yourself in the crib though, no tears!).

{The majority of my pictures from today look like this. Ugh!}

Best Moment: Celebrating your first Thanksgiving! You loved all of the attention, and of course, the FOOD!!! I also loved going to the mountains to get out Christmas tree with you! I know Christmas is going to be a total blast with you around!!!

Worst Moment: I don't think we had a completely awful moment this month! Hooray! But I didn't like the times when you would face plant into the ground...and also the times when you refused to take a picture for me, like this morning! Ha!

Likes: Still such a lover of shopping (you just love sitting on top of that cart, waving to everyone!), snuggling with Mommy and especially Daddy, watching Bravo shows and football, anytime anyone holds you (you get so excited when we go to pick you up, you start kicking your feet and panting like a dog!), grabbing peoples's faces, pulling books off the shelf (and sometimes kinda looking at them), pushing your walker all over the house, eating anything we are eating, phones/remotes, and being able to stand up!

Dislikes: Not a huge fan of the Christmas tree so far (it did displace all of your toys, so I don't blame you), being poopy, having pictures taken of you (like father, like daughter?!) and anytime you aren't able to explore and move (like when you're in your car seat or high chair)...you're not super fussy during these times, but I can just tell you'd rather be crawling around than strapped in!

Health: After that awful bug you had last month, I'm so glad we've had a healthy month! You had a little bit of sniffles/congestion, but that was pretty much it!

Eating: We were given the go ahead by your doctor at your 9 month appointment to give you anything except cow's milk and raw honey...and we pretty much have given you everything except those! You especially love yogurt, cheese sticks, quesadillas (from Chipotle!!!!), applesauce and of course Puffs. You were beside yourself on Thanksgiving when we gave you a little bit of everything: turkey, mashed potatoes, squash, green bean casserole...your favorite though was deviled eggs (which, gross me out to no end...but you LOVED them)!!! I was a little worried you were going to wake up with hives all over from all of these new foods, but luckily, you were fine! We are still nursing, but you are pretty much over it at this point. Hang in there 2 more months sweet girl; we've got this!

I can't believe in just 2 short months, we will be celebrating your first birthday!!! Everyday is a new adventure with you, and I just love, love, love your little personality! You are so sweet but also incredibly feisty....and I'll forgive you for not being cooperative this morning for these pictures, because you totally make me laugh every single day. You are a crazy girl, but I'm so grateful that you are happy and healthy! And SO much fun!!! Thank you for providing countless hours of entertainment for me and Daddy!! We love you to pieces!!!
