Life with Bennett {48 weeks}

Another week, another very tardy update! Love me through it, guys!!!

Friday:

One of my most favorite things ever happened....SCHOOL SUPPLIES SHOPPING!

I was so so so excited to take Ella to Target to get supplies for kindergarten! And yes, we certainly did go on July 19 when she doesn't start school until August 26! I wanted to get there before everything got picked over!

We even found Peppa Pig bandaids (yes bandaids were on her supply list)!

Saturday:

It was WAY past time for Lucas to get a haircut. Check out that mop on his head.

Our favorite haircut place closed, so we went somewhere new. Lucas wasn't sure about it but he loved the animal crackers they gave him! Plus he got a toy car as a "prize" at the end...so he was asking to go back to get his hair cut again that afternoon!

Ahhh, so much better!!

Sunday:

Bennett took a crazy long nap, so Trav stayed home with him while I took the big kids to the pool!

Lucas was all talk about going off the diving board. Till he got up there and was like, "Ummmm nope." He quickly turned around and got down immediately.

When Bennett finally woke up from his nap, I took him to a nearby football field to take pictures for his birthday party invitations!!! I had a hard time picking just one picture!

{His party theme is football, if you hadn't guessed!}

Monday:

My kids had been begging me to take them to this new place called Jumpin Jax, so we finally went! As soon as we walked in, Blippi was playing on the TV and Lucas immediately never wanted to leave!

Although Bennett got off to a rough start...

...he eventually had a lot of fun!

And of course Ella and Lucas were both obsessed with everything there! They had a total blast!

I hardly have any pictures of Lucas because he was so busy running around having fun!

On the way home, we stopped by my parents' house to see how the construction was coming along!

That night, Bennett wore his last size 2 diaper!!!

Tuesday:

We made a quick trip to the library!

And Ella had another Chinese lesson!!

Wednesday:

After my dentist appointment, we met our friends at the park!

Thursday:

Another pool day!

I am quickly becoming obsessed with taking these 3 to our neighborhood pool around noon...swim for a little bit, eat a picnic lunch at the pool, rinse off...I mean, swim some more and then home for naps! And everyone takes such good naps afterwards, too!

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!!!

Bennett Michael {11 months}

Dear Bennett,

This can't be right. How the heck are we less than a month away from your FIRST BIRTHDAY?!?! Maybe it's because you are tiny, or maybe this year has just gone by way too fast, but I feel like you should only be about 8 or 9 months old at this point! But you're not. And it makes me so sad, but also so excited for what is to come for you! This has been a fun month, so let's see what you've been up to!

Height: 27.5" (5 %ile)
Weight: 18 pounds, 3 ounces (4 %ile)
Head circumference: 46 cm (50 %ile)

Clothes: Well I finally stopped squishing you into 6 month pajamas and you are now in size 9 month ones! Your clothes are all pretty much 9 months or 12 months. Except: the onesie in these pictures (6 months) and the Shrimp and Grits Kids jon jons that always run crazy big (again 6 months). We just moved you up to size 3 diapers on Tuesday!

Nicknames: Ben, Ben Ben, Little Bean, Bean Bag, Benny Ben, Benny Boo Boo, B, B Man, Big Guy, Sweetest Peach, Peanut, Peanut Butter, Pumpkin, Pumpkin Spice Latte!

Milestones: This is the month of "almosts"!!! You are almost crawling with your tummy off the ground (maybe you'll just be an army crawler for life?! I don't hate that). You are almost saying "Mama" and "Dada" and "Ella" while looking at us, but you will not do it on command to save your life. You are almost climbing up the stairs (helpppp). You are almost clapping (my favorite milestone! Please make it happen soon. I live for baby claps). And two more teeth on the top are just barely almost poking through. You have gotten more confident in pulling up and have started stepping! You can hold onto things with just one hand and are pretty freaking proud of yourself! You love to grab things including people's hair and skin, ouch!

Sleep: You are still a rockstar sleeper! You will sleep 12-13 hours most nights!! I do wake you up to eat before I tutor because my boobs might explode if I don't, but you'd be perfectly fine sleeping until 7:30 or 8 AM if I didn't! On the days you get a morning nap, you fight it hard...but you always get and take an amazing afternoon nap!

Best Moment: Celebrating my birthday in the mountains with you! We also "celebrated" your 1 year anniversary of your first blood transfusion with some slurpees! We've also had so much fun splashing with you at the pool! You are the cutest swimmer!

Worst Moment: When you get into something you're not supposed to....like the chalk that I thought you couldn't get to, but surprise! It got all over you and the playroom carpet, yay. At least its non-toxic?!

Likes: Sucking on your pointer and middle fingers, ceiling fans, "Baby Shark" song, "The Wheels on the Bus," big brother's tractors, cords/chargers, eating paper/books, when we give you "raspberries" on your tummy, playing Peek-a-Boo, bath time (you love when the water splashes on your face!), when we clap in front of you, chasing the Roomba, making a clicking noise with your tongue.

Dislikes: When Ella and/or Lucas have something you want (especially when it comes to food!)

Health: You recently have had a random runny nose. I think it might be from teething?! Because you are fine otherwise and it comes and goes randomly.

Eating: You are still an awesome eater! You pretty much eat anything and everything! You especially love Nutri-grain bars, cheese, blueberries, veggie straws and pancakes! You had your first Chick Fil-A kids meal this month and you housed it down like a boss. You were done several minutes before either Ella or Lucas! You are still nursing, but good grief you are so stubborn about it! I am talking 3ish minutes per side and you. are. DONE!

Ahhh sweet boy! The countdown is ON! I can't believe this time last year, you had already had two blood transfusions and we were getting ready to meet you! It's hard to even remember life without you though because you are such a light! I'm so excited to see what this next month brings, especially because you are on the verge of so many milestones! We love you sweet boy!!!

Life with Bennett {week 47}

I just cannot get my act together to get these posted on Fridays anymore!! I used to write them after I got done tutoring at like 11 PM, but these days I have just been so tired...and then I don't get to it all weekend because we are busy doing other stuff! So here we are! Bear with me for another 5 (!!! That's it?!?!) weeks!

Friday:

We met up with our friends at our favorite jumpy place!

Saturday:

Ella had a birthday party at "Bounce on You" (aka, Bounce U).

My friend Angela also stopped by with her crew on their way back to Ohio from Hilton Head!

(Bennett was napping when we took this pic!)

Sunday:

I actually got to go to the mall by MYSELF (!!!), but while I was there, Trav was convinced Bennett was about to flip out of his crib at any second. So, we finally lowered his crib! Finally!

Monday:

The most glorious day of the month...our cleaning ladies were here! Unfortunately, I had to spend the morning at a CPR class for my job at the Y...blahhhh. But I rewarded all of us (and really, it was an excuse to keep my kitchen cleaner a little longer!) with Chick Fil A for lunch!

See that mess?! Better on the mall food court floor than in my house after the cleaning ladies had just left!

Tuesday:

Pool day!

That afternoon, we went to Target...and did you know?! The Target brand pull-ups have dinosaurs and excavators on them! Plus they are cheaper!! Score!

Wednesday:

At this point, we still haven't eaten lunch at home all week, lol! We played with our friends and had lunch over there this day!

6 kids at that table! Whoa!!!

Lucas needs a piano stat, haha!

After our playtime and lunch, we all went to get $1 cinnamon rolls! There was nowhere to sit inside the place, so we sat out in the 100* heat. Woof. At least those cinnamon rolls were super yummy!

Thursday:

We went to a special story time with a magician!

He also brought meteorites (his whole performance had a space theme) for the kids to see up close at the end!

Thursday night, I had a hot date!

Travis was nominated for CFO of the year by the Charlotte Business Journal! So we went to the awards dinner for that. He didn't win (in my opinion, he got majorly robbed and totally should have won, but what do I know), but I am just so proud of him for even being a finalist! He works so insanely hard, so it's nice to see him being recognized!

And that's a wrap on this week! Catch you on Wednesday for Bennett's 11 month (what?! how?!) update!
