Life with Bennett {week 31}

Happy Friday! Unfortunately, Bennett wasn't able to bring any luck to the Tar Heels with his super preppy outfit today; they just lost. And there goes the rest of my bracket...womp womp.

Anyways!
Here's a look back at our past week!

Friday:

I had a super cute helper for tutoring that morning!

And that afternoon, we went to our friends' house to watch movies and eat pizza!

Bennett enjoyed their jumperoo!

And I found Ella like this when I went to tuck her in that night. With all of her "guys" lined up just so. Oh and you can't miss the sleeping mask! She cracks me up!

Saturday:

Yay for soccer!

We watched a LOT of basketball!

And played outside, since it was so nice out!

Sunday:

Ella requested to go to the "fancy church where the consignment sale was," this week, so that's what we did! (Myers Park Pres for those of you who are curious!) I was so proud of her for being super well-behaved during the service and drawing lots of pretty pictures!

After church, she wanted to take pictures everywhere because "everything is so pretty here!" (This is 15-20 minutes from our house...Ella acted like we were in a different country, lol!)

When we got home, Ella wanted to put her bow on Bennett, just to see what he would look like. I think he looks ridiculous but Ella thought he was so pretty, ha!

Monday:

Time for another run in the double BOB with both boys!

Lucas's life was made by seeing a fire truck ("with flashing flashing lights!") drive by, coming into our neighborhood! And then we saw it leaving our neighborhood when we were running back home! We also saw an ambulance! No idea what was going on, but Lucas sure was excited!!!
Bennett was underwhelmed by the whole situation.

It had been a few days since our last Target run, so we stopped there to get a few things. Lucas wanted to wear this hat "like Blippi!"

Yes, he finally discovered Blippi and he is obsessed with that guy now!! Help me. I now have the garbage truck song and the excavator song in my head all day long!

We also put together Bennett's jumperoo for the bonus room, finally! He liked it!

Tuesday:

It was melt-down city in Home Goods.

Some nice lady in the check-out line gave Lucas this crane truck to keep him from crying. Guess who's a huge sucker and ended up just buying it for him?! Good thing it was only $8!

Lucas is now attached at the hip to this darn crane truck!!!

Wednesday:

We met our friends at the jumpy place!

These sweet boys. I can't believe they will be jumping around like their big brothers before we know it!

My friend Chelsea also made Lucas a bulldozer for his birthday party (ya know, in 2 months, ha!)...and he is totally obsessed with it! Thanks Chels Bells!

Thursday:

One of my friends was selling ALL of her kids' old clothes...and because her kids just might be the best dressed in all of Charlotte, we had to check it out! Lucas got into absolutely no trouble at all at her house.... ;)

And then the trouble continued...we picked Ella up from school and I let both kids play on her preschool playground for a minute since it was so nice out! Guess who took off his shoes no fewer than 6 times while we were there?!

At least these sweet girls played nicely!

Little Bennett is becoming more and more on the move!  He was trying to crawl toward this book!

...and also now he is starting to do this during diaper changes! Ugh. Looks like I will be moving that!

Last night, Ella had Spring Sing at preschool! This was the best picture I got of her the whole time :(

Bennett thoroughly enjoyed eating my hand during the entire performance!

While Lucas kept yelling out "Hi Goo! Hey Goo!!!" (He calls her Goo and we have absolutely no clue why!)

After the show, we got pizza and had a picnic with the rest of her preschool on the playground.

Yes, the same playground we had just been on a few hours prior! And don't worry, Lucas took his shoes off 96 times yet again. Time to switch him over to the Saltwater sandals that he doesn't know how to unbuckle! Ha!

Have a great weekend!!

Bennett Michael {7 months}

Dear Bennett,

Yesterday you turned 7 months old!!! I absolutely HATE the number 7, but I gotta say, this is one of my most favorite ages! You are getting to be SO much fun!! And the fact that you are the cutest thing under the sun doesn't hurt either! Let's take a look at what you've been up to this month!

Height:
Weight:
Head circumference:

You actually have a weight check/second flu shot appointment next week, so I will update these stats then, since I was wayyyy off on your 5 month update (our scale sucks)!

Clothes: You are comfortably wearing 6 month clothes, but you can definitely rock a few 9 month things in a few brands that run small (Ralph Lauren, Kissy Kissy). You are also (finally!) in 6 month pajamas! The onesie you are wearing in these pictures is 3 months, but I probably should have put you in a 6 month one ;) Still wearing size 2 diapers.

Nicknames: Ben, Ben Ben, Benito, Little B, Little Bean, Benny, Benny Ben, Sweetest Boy, Big Guy, Lucas still calls you "Baby Bin-it!" while Ella prefers "Benny"

Milestones: You can roll both ways now (back to belly and belly to back)!! And let me tell you, you can MOVE! I will put you down on your play mat, and 5 minutes later, you are across the room (or under the couch, ha)! Now that you've mastered rolling, you love to sleep on your tummy and you roll all over your crib. Every morning I wonder where in that crib I will find you because it sure won't be in the same spot where I put you down the night before! You've scootched yourself backwards a few times and you so badly want to crawl. I am almost 99% you're teething because everything goes in the mouth and you are suuuuper drooly, but I haven't felt any teeth just yet! Your babbling is becoming more "word-like," and I swear I've heard you say "Ella" and "Mama." You also like to say "mmmmm" and "bbbbb" a lot!

Sleep: Honestly, I'd give you a B+ right now! You are sleeping pretty great! (Now watch me jinx it by typing that!) Saturday night you slept almost 13 hours straight, and even DADDY didn't hear you (he usually hears every little sound you make)! You still wake up occasionally, but you are able to soothe yourself back to sleep, which we are so thankful for! Naps are awesome, but we are entering the stage of being in "morning nap jail." If you don't get your morning nap, you are a NIGHTMARE (love ya, mean it!), so most days we have to be home between 9:30 and 11 AM so you can nap in your crib. Afternoon naps are easier because your older siblings are napping, too and you sleep from 2ish until 4ish and sometimes even 5 PM!

Best Moment: Feeding you food for the first time, watching you swing for the first time, celebrating your first St. Patrick's Day/Selection Sunday

Worst Moment: Whenever you don't get a good morning nap and you just cry/scream/cryyyyy.

Likes: Ceiling fans, your feet (new discovery this month!), your hands (especially your middle and ring fingers), your big brother and sister, this teether, this musical toy, watching sports on TV with Daddy (golf is your fav!), Baby Mum Mums, being held, tickling you under your arms, baths, people smiling at you

{see?! you LOVE your feet!}

Dislikes: Being tired/skipping naps, being hungry

Health: You had a little bit of a runny nose off and on this month, but other than that you are totally healthy!

Eating: This was a big one this month! You tried real food for the first time on March 1 and you absolutely LOVE to eat! You get very excited when we put you in the highchair and walk toward you with baby food! So far you've had: bananas, avocados, pears, butternut squash, prunes, carrots, apples and pumpkin. You liked all of it, but LOVED pears the most and liked avocados probably the least. Just like your big brother, now that you've started solids, your poop situation is a little...backed up shall we say? But thanks to Lucas, at least I know what to do now! And I will say your issues don't seem to be quite as bad as his were (yet, anyway). Prunes and pears will be making a regular appearance in your meals so I'm glad you like them! ;)
You are still nursing every 2.5 to 3 hours, but you are kinda over it. I'm hoping your lack of interest doesn't effect my supply because you refuse bottles so if we had to go to formula, I'm not sure what you would do! You have fallen off the growth curve slightly so that is one reason we are going back to the doctor next week! Let's hope your nursing improves soon!! Stay focused, buddy! Don't get distracted!

Ben Ben, we are so glad you've been part of our family for 7 whole months now!!! You seem to act as if you're saying, "Hi! I'm Bennett! I'm just happy to be here!" and we are SO happy to have you here as well!! People are always commenting about how adorable you are, and how sweet and happy you act (well unless you skipped your morning nap...)! We just can't get enough of you as more and more of your personality shows! You are the sweetest little peanut and we are so lucky you're ours!!!

Life with Bennett {week 30}

Happy Friday friends!!!
Here's what we've been up to!

Friday:

We met up with Ella's preschool friends at a local gym!

Bennett hung out in the Ergo and drooled just a teense all over it. If this boy doesn't cut a tooth soon....!!

Saturday:

My little diva at Lucas's soccer practice!

She said the sun was "hurting her eyes," so of course I had to give her my sunglasses!

Meanwhile, this boy was just having the time of his life scoring goal after goal! He just loves soccer right now and we are so proud of him!

After soccer, he decided to put Ramses in an ambulance?

And Ella and I made a quick Target run...she asked to try on sunglasses, but I didn't buy her any! Even though she had to use mine earlier, she definitely has about 8 pairs at home!

Sunday:

St. Patrick's Day AND Selection Sunday! Some of us were more excited about basketball than the Irish holiday...

Photo shoots all around!

And then we watched the Selection Show while eating our favorite enchiladas that I make every Selection Sunday (such an authentic Irish recipe, ha!).

Monday:

The boys and I met up with some friends at the library!

Monday afternoon, we made our brackets!

Ella's was done in no time flat, but Lucas had absolutely NO interest in his and it took FOREVER! For Bennett's I had Ella stand in front of my laptop, and she told me which team B picked based off of which way his eyes looked, ha!

Tuesday:

My very last Awaken Bible Study!

I've been going to this Bible Study since Lucas was 4 months old. Now that I've done all 4 classes, I graduated! I will miss it so much; it has truly changed my life! For real, if you are in Charlotte, you need to go! It will start back up in the fall and it's on Tuesday mornings at Carmel Baptist! It is SO good.

After that, we made another quick trip to Target. Because I always need something at Target, right?! Just not this Thomas hat ;)

That evening, I had a wine night with some friends, so I had gone to Target specifically to get a bottle of wine for this thing. Well, wouldn't you know it, they forgot to give me my bag with the wine in it and I didn't realize till much later in the day?! Oh I was SO mad!!!!
Anyway...

I just had to share this pic of the sweetest matching siblings! Ella's dress is 3T and still fits...Bennett's longall used to be Lucas's!

Hop, hop, hop! This little bunny is ready for Easter!

Tell me that's not the cutest bunny you ever saw!

Wednesday:

Lucas got a much needed haircut!

Before:

And after:

He looks 12 now! Someone hold me.

Lucas and his new haircut decided it was not necessary to eat dinner that night and ran away with the older boy at church who had a bunch of trucks. I found them sitting together playing so nicely. It would have been even nicer if he had eaten his dinner first, but whatevs.

Thursday:

We had a low-key morning at home; first putting away Bennett's laundry and sorting out things that no longer fit.

And then we finally broke out my super cool shop vac I got for Christmas to clean out my car!!! I was way too excited about this; Bennett's just wondering why the thing is so loud!

While I was doing that, Lucas perfected his basketball skills. Let's just say they are better than his bracket making skills at this point. Bless.

And for the record, this guy LOVES Baby Mum Mums, just like his older siblings!!!

Have a great weekend!
Go Tarheels and hopefully everyone's bracket is doing better than all of ours over here!
