What's Up Wednesday {March}

Happy Hump Day, friends! Time for a monthly round-up of life around here!

1. What we're eating this week

Trav has been on a Mediterranean diet kick, and I've coincidentally been craving Mediterranean food, so he's been cooking up lots of yummy things from that area of the world. We've had some delicious salmon, chicken kabobs, chicken salad wraps, and lots of couscous. I don't have any recipes because Trav has been making a lot of them up himself, but everything is SO yummy!

2. What I'm reminiscing about

Looking back through old Easter pics, I found these from my absolute favorite photo shoot I ever subjected Ella to!

I tried it last year with Lucas, but seeing as he was about 9 months older than Ella was when I took hers, he decided he was too old for this garbage and hated every second!

3. What I'm loving

That spring finally got its act together and it's FINALLY supposed to warm up! I have been freezing over here!!!

4. What we've been up to

Oh, just 140,000 Easter Egg Hunts ;)

5. What I'm dreading

All of the pollen and the spring cleaning that comes along with it. Our screened-in porch is just a disaster and needs a good power-washing. I am dreading that. 

6. What I'm working on

Ummm, does growing a human count?! Ha! I've also been having lots of fun doing my online tutoring gig that I just started a few weeks ago! The kids have all been super cute and eager to learn! 

7. What I'm excited about

Warmer weather!!! More park play dates, spring clothes, grilling out, I want all of it! 

8. What I'm watching/reading

Still watching the train wrecks that are Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules. I am currently reading The Girl With Seven Names, which was actually recommended by Shay. 

It is really good, and I have a hard time putting it down every night! It is all about a girl who escaped from North Korea...and maybe y'all will think I am totally living in a bubble here, but I had no idea how backwards and outdated things were in that country! It is a really interesting read for sure. 

9. What I'm listening to

This is going to sound so dumb, but a while ago, my fav Emily Ley posted something about silence and how sometimes we need to just turn all that noise OFF. So I've been turning down the radio in my car (unless Ella is requesting to hear a certain song), and just talking to my kids and enjoying the quiet. It's been really nice!

10. What I'm wearing

Miraculously, still not maternity clothes although they are prob coming super soon (like in the next week or so). I am SOOOO over my winter clothes, ps. 

11. What I'm doing this weekend

 One of my best friends from high school is stopping to visit us on her way to the beach with her family! We are also planning on taking the kids to see the Easter Bunny, and of course celebrating Easter on Sunday!

13. What else is new

Not much, just suffering a little bit of seasonal allergies along with everyone else here in Charlotte (fun fact: did you know that Charlotte is the one of the worst city in the country for seasonal allergies?! Its true. They are awful here!)

Bonus question: What is your favorite Easter tradition?

Getting dressed up in new spring clothes (kids' Easter clothes are my FAVORITE!) and going to church! Look at these sweet babies from last year!

Lately | October

Happy October, friends!

I haven't done a "lately" post in quite a while, but I'd thought it would be the best way to discuss all of the random things going on right now!

Wearing: Almost 6 weeks after the Lilly sale, I am FINALLY receiving what I ordered! I still have a few things I'm waiting on, but I have been wearing my new Lilly stuff pretty much nonstop lately. I know they are not the most "fall" clothes, but whatever. 

                    

Reading: I read these books while we were away in Curacao:

Do you think I like biographies a little bit?!

Turning the Tables was ok...it was written by Teresa, so who really knows what actually happened to her in prison, ya know?!
The Magnolia Story was really interesting. Love Chip and Joanna, and I'm sad this is their last season of Fixer Upper!
Secret Sisters was written by my neighbor and friend, Joy Callaway! I thought it was really, really good and as a former Chi Omega, I loved reading a story about how sororities got their start.
Superficial I started on the plane on the way home, so I haven't finished it yet. We shall see if I actually do now that I'm home and have zero time to read!

Thinking: How horrible the news from Las Vegas was this morning. My former swim coach's husband is a police officer in Vegas (he is safe) and I just cannot even imagine what everyone there is going through right now.  Praying for everyone involved in that mess.

Craving: All of the pumpkin things! I went to Trader Joe's on Saturday was basically a kid in a candy store. Pumpkin Joe-Joes? Need those. Pumpkin {walks into a} Bars? Ella and Lucas definitely would want me to buy those. Pumpkin cheerios? I mean, what else is Lucas supposed to snack on?! I really had to restrain myself from buying every single pumpkin product in the store, whoops.

Loving: That the weather has finally cooled off and it pretty much feels like fall! Thank goodness most of my Lilly stuff is long-sleeved ;)

I actually even ran OUTSIDE this morning for the first time in months and it wasn't even HOT! 🙌

Watching: I'm really liking Real Housewives of Dallas so far. And I've been into Dancing with the Stars, even though I originally thought the cast was a little stale this season. I think Lindsay and Jordan (from Hamilton) will win.

Planning: Kathryn's baby sprinkle!! We are doing a "sprinkles" theme and I'm super excited; I think it will turn out so cute!! {Pinterest board here}

Which reminds me, I need to send out those invites!!! (I'm on top of things over here, Kat!!! 😜)

Lately | June

I totally forgot to do one of these in May (I know you were missing it!), but here's what's going on with us this month!

Wearing: NOT maternity clothes!!! Actually, wait...some maternity clothes still. My regular clothes are still a little small on me. UGH. I hate this in between stage after you have a baby! I'm also obsessed with these tees from Target:

They are perfect for my weird body right now!

Reading: Nothing currently, but I need to re-read Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. 

This newborn sleep situation is for the birds. 

Thinking: Is Lucas the cutest baby boy ever?! YES.

Craving: LOTS of coffee. When I was pregnant with Lucas, I could not stand coffee, but now I basically need an IV of it to survive.

Loving: That I actually did a GOOD job with Trav's birthday present this year!!!

My husband's birthday is tomorrow and his present from me arrived yesterday (thanks for the super fast shipping, Amazon!). He is literally THE hardest person to shop for in the world. He had mentioned a while ago he wanted to get a charcoal grill, so I got him this one. Lo and behold, he actually LIKED it and said that it was the exact one he was planning on buying!! So, I don't have to return it! Woo hoo!

Watching: The Bachelorette. Duh.

My favorites right now are Aaron Roger's brother and Luke. Even better than watching the show is reading people's recaps online...this one had me cracking up. Chad = Donald Trump. Hilariously accurate. 

Planning: I may or may not have already started a Pinterest board for Lucas's first birthday...you know, next May. Don't judge ;)

It's going to be a Hole in ONE Par-Tee! Eeek!

Lately | April

Here's a quick look at some things on my mind for the beginning of April!

Wearing: Still lots of maternity clothes. I have managed to find some spring/summer clothes, which includes some t-shirts and maxi dresses. I don't do shorts (my legs are too fat)!

{I'm loving this dress I wore on Easter! Old Navy for the win...again!}

Reading: True story, the only book I've read lately is seriously called, "Oh Crap! Potty Training."

This book was recommended to me by several people, and the author did have lots of good tips for potty training. I'm still totally dreading the whole process...but I'll report back with our progress very soon!

Thinking: Can the Tarheels get a re-do of Monday night's game?!?! Please?!? 

Absolutely heartbreaking. I may have cried watching the post-game interviews (thanks, Roy for crying and making this pregnant, hormonal chick a hot mess). 

Craving: Warmer weather. We had to turn the heat on this morning! What the heck.

Loving: Baby Boy's nursery is coming along! I made some progress over the last week, and hung a few things. 

{ignore all the stuff on the table! And we need to get a quilt or something to go on the back of the chair...}

{I'm thinking I may have hung those frames too high? But I don't want him kicking them during diaper changes!}

I just got the curtains today, so we will hang those up soon, too!

Kathryn convinced me to do  navy and white striped curtains (which is what I bought), but I am scared it will be too much with the chevron sheets? What do you think? Striped or plain navy curtains?? Behind the crib, I am going to put a big circle navy monogram...once we figure out his name! 

Watching: Lots of new shows are starting up right now! 

Southern Charm just started Monday, Real Housewives of New York starts tonight, and I'm kind of wanting to watch Real Housewives of Dallas which starts next week! 

Planning: I just got asked to be in my friend Liv's wedding in November! 

{this is where she's having her wedding....SO pretty, right?!}

It is in California, so I'm trying to figure out how I can turn the trip into a week-long vacation for either all 4 of us (sounds so crazy! 4 of us!) or just Trav and me. I love vacation planning!!

Lately | March

I had every intention of doing these "lately" posts at the beginning of each month....but I got kinda busy in November/December/January/February between hiding my pregnancy for a little while, moving, the holidays and then Ella's birthday!

But I'm back at it again, so here's a look at our life lately!

Wearing: Lots and lots of maternity clothes. 

My favorites right now are these leggings (yes they are not maternity, but fit over the bump perfectly; and yes, I gave up Target until March 27 but I stocked up ahead of time!) and these tank tops under everyyyyything. I really need to get some summer maternity clothes; any ideas of where to look without breaking the bank?!

Reading: So, so sad but nothing at the moment. Well, except children's books to Ella. I know. 

Thinking: Is this warm weather here to stay?!?! Please say yes.

Craving: All the strawberry pop tarts. And pasta salads!

Loving: That today is my fabulous mom's birthday!!! Yay! 

AND she and my dad are coming to visit this weekend, along with my uncle and his girlfriend from Colorado. Woo hoo for family in town!

Watching: 

The Bachelor (totally think he's picking Lauren), Fuller House, and of course all of my Bravo shows. We also finally finished Making a Murderer....so, so good!

Planning: Baby Ferg 2's nursery! 

We are almost done painting the dresser; we just have to put new trackers and door pulls on. It's turning into quite an expensive and time-consuming project and I am half wondering why we didn't just buy a new dresser. Oh well. Can't wait to share the final product when it's finally done!

Lately | October

Okay, okay. I realize it's not quite October yet, but I wanted to do my monthly "Lately" post today so I could link up for What's Up Wednesday!

Wearing: Fall clothes, FINALLY!!! And since it's been raining for almost a week straight here in Charlotte, I've been living in these:

Reading: I'm currently in the middle of The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, and I am so inspired to get rid of everything I own!

My house really is full of wayyy too much clutter. I just need about 204 more hours in each day to get it done. 

Thinking: WHEN will it stop raining?!?!? #overit

Craving: Lots of soup and chili on these dreary days! I made Chesson's White Chicken Chili on Sunday and it was delicious!! 

Loving: That in a little over a week, we will {finally!} be at the beach!

Watching: I'm totally addicted to Ladies of London.

These ladies are exquisite and I'm obsessed with anything British. Every week, I want to go on vacation (or I believe, they call it "holiday"?) there immediately. Who wants to come with me?!

Planning: Still planning Kathryn's baby shower!!
