Bumpdate {weeks 31-35}

Long time, no talk! I totally didn't mean to take a 3 week break from this little space, but I honestly haven't felt like blogging lately. I've been living at the doctor's office and getting things ready for this baby, so blogging has taken a back seat. I hope to post at least once a week from here on out though, as life is about to get exciting for us very soon! So I thought I'd check in with one last bump date!

Size of baby: Bunch of carrots. At my ultrasound on Monday, they estimated baby to weigh around 6 pounds, 1 ounce.
Weight gain: +44 pounds. I don't even know how this happened. I am so huge.
Maternity clothes: The only thing that’s comfortable is maternity dresses with shorts underneath. Even yoga pants are not that comfortable at this point.
Gender: leaning towards boy.

Movement: Yes although I feel like he/she has slowed down a little bit. Movements are more like large flips and rolls, rather than kicks and punches.
Cravings: Same stuff, but cereal is making a comeback.
Symptoms: Hard to change positions (sitting or laying down to standing). Peeing all of the time. Can’t stand up for very long and my back hurts if I’ve been standing for more than 5 minutes. Cannot bend over at all. Oh and my gums have been super bloody when I brush my teeth.
Workouts: DONE RUNNING!
Sleep: Ok, but I wake up way too often to pee, my hips hurt, and I am ready to go at like 5 AM.
Labor signs: Just some minor contractions and cramping.
ISO: Had my last MCA scan on Monday. Baby is looking great, but they still want to induce soon. Better out than in at this point. I don’t know what I will do with all of my free time now that I don’t have to go to the MFM every week!
What I miss: Sleeping on my stomach, sushi, not worrying about things.
Best moment this week: Nesting like crazy to get ready for this baby! And seeing him/her one last time on the ultrasound screen!

Looking forward to: Meeting this baby!!!!!

Bumpdate {weeks 26-30}

Time for another bumpdate!!
(These pictures just keep getting worse and worse, ha!)

Size of baby: Summer cantaloupe
Weight gain: +33 pounds. YIKES. The good news is that I only ONE pound in the 2 weeks between doctor's visits!!
Maternity clothes: Yep. Blah.
Gender: Feeling like girl, but yesterday's ultrasound picture I think looked more like Lucas?!

Movement: After the blood transfusion, I have never paid more attention to a baby’s movements till this child now! I am constantly doing kick counts and making sure he/she is moving lots. They definitely have quiet periods, but will move around a lot when I’m driving, eating pasta salad or drinking coffee!
Cravings: Pasta salad, raspberry gelato, popsicles
Symptoms: Some sciatic nerve pain. I had a little soreness from all of the places where they put needles during my last two transfusions. Most of my pain is if baby is laying in a weird way/spot and it will just HURT somewhere in my stomach. I get out of breath way too easily. Peeing lots. Hard to bend over. Also feeling nauseous at times?!
Workouts: Our treadmill broke right after I hit 26 weeks, so I took it as a sign from above that I needed to be DONE RUNNING this pregnancy!

Sleep: Starting to get a little insomnia. I just cannot fall asleep! And waking up 1-3 times to pee now.
Labor signs: Nope.
ISO: Since my last update, I've had 2 blood transfusions, on July 11 and then yesterday, July 23. You can read about the first one here. The one yesterday was basically the same as the first one and went well! I go back on Monday to check and see how baby is taking in all that new blood. The doctor is planning on doing one more transfusion, probably in about 2 weeks, but wants to see how baby is doing before we decide any dates for sure. Also, doctor talked about having to deliver around 34/35 weeks. He doesn’t want to do any more transfusions at that point because baby’s placenta is in the back and it’s too tricky to get the correct needle placement as baby gets bigger.
What I miss: Not having anxiety/paranoia about if this baby is ok!
Best moment this week: Seeing baby in 3D and 4D! Getting another transfusion over with. Also, I got a Roomba on Amazon Prime Day and it is LIFE. CHANGING.

Looking forward to: Checking on baby again next Monday. Also, finishing up some stuff in the  nursery and hopefully buying a new car soon! Trav and I both hate dealing with car stuff, so we've been procrastinating on this one big time!

Bumpdate {Weeks 21-25}

Now that I'm almost 26 weeks (tomorrow!), time for another bump date from the past month!

Size of baby: Napa cabbage
Weight gain: I can't believe I have already gained 25 pounds. It is what it is...
Maternity clothes: Already sick of them! Looking for more shorts and dresses…it is so hot!
Gender: I’m thinking girl this week.

Movement: Yes and Ella felt the baby move 10 days ago for the first time! Baby moves the most when I am hungry and/or if I am drinking something.
Cravings: Berries/fruit, popsicles, ice cream/yogurt, Greek food, pasta, Fruity Pebbles.
Symptoms: Sciatic nerve pain coming in strong this week. Every time I get up after sitting, it’s pretty painful. Also, I’ve had some cramping (Braxton Hicks?) and tightness on my stomach. I also cannot stand up for more than 15-20 minutes; my feel hurt so bad!
Workouts: Still running 2 miles, 4 times a week at 10:00 pace. Who knows how long this will continue.
 If I'm being honest, I really am still running because it gives me a solid 20 minutes to catch up on my shows on our DVR!
Sleep: Good, but getting up at least once to pee.
Labor signs: Nope.
ISO: Baby looked GREAT at the ultrasound this week! Heart rate was around 157 and PSV was 30…which is a super low MoM of .96. The lowest it’s been! Doctor also discussed getting Trav’s blood tested again and/or testing baby to see if he/she is negative for the D antigen.
What I miss: Being skinny. And WINE.
Best moment this week: Seeing baby again on the monitor! The ultrasound tech tried to put it on 3D, but it was still a little too early for that. Still it was really cool to kind of see baby in 3D!

Looking forward to:  Putting the crib together and making some more progress on the nursery!

Bumpdate {Weeks 16-20}

It's time for another bumpdate!

Please note that I look and feel HUGE. I am slightly terrified when I think of what I will look like in another 15ish weeks.

Size of baby: Currently a Belgian endive
Weight gain: Stupid scale at the doctor’s office added 5 lbs onto what my home scale said, which means I am up 19 pounds. Woof.
Maternity clothes: All maternity bottoms and mostly maternity tops.
Gender: I go back and forth every week. This week I am thinking maybe boy?! I feel like the baby looked boyish at my ultrasound yesterday (but the last ultrasound I thought the baby looked girlish so who really knows).
Movement: Feeling more little kicks and jumps!
Cravings: I can kind of drink coffee again! Definitely not craving it though. Still really loving pasta salad, tomatoes, s'mores flavored anything and ice cream.
Symptoms: Tired, peeing all of the time. Having some round ligament and sciatic nerve pains. Already feeling huge and its hard to bend over and put my shoes on.
Workouts: I've bumped down to running just 2 miles, 4 times a week at 10:00 mile pace. It's getting realllly hard.

Sleep: Great, just wish I got more of it!
Labor signs: Nope.
ISO: Had another MCA scan yesterday! I've had 3 of these since my last update on here. MCA scans measure the flow of blood into baby's brain, which determines if baby is becoming anemic or not. Then they use a whole bunch of crazy math formulas to figure out something called a MoM (multiples of the median) score. 1.0 is what you want the MoM to be; if it gets above 1.5, the baby is most likely anemic and the doctors will do a transfusion at this point. My first 2 MCA scans, the MoM was 1.2 which the doctors were very happy with. Yesterday it was 1.0! They kept checking and checking and the highest they ever got was something like 1.09. So who knows why it went down, but I am hoping and praying that this is a good sign, and the numbers stay around 1.0 for a while!!
What I miss: Being skinny. Wine. Not driving to the doctor every 5 minutes, ha!
Best moment this week: Feeling more baby kicks, and of course seeing baby yesterday on the monitor! And hearing it's little heartbeat; it was 150 yesterday if anyone is curious! I also finished painting the nursery; woohoo!

Looking forward to: We are going to the beach next weekend, which should be exhausting and fun at the same time. It will probably be our last trip as a family of FOUR!

Bumpdate {First 15 Weeks}

I'm baaaackkk with a bump date! I know you are SO excited.

Most people hate these things, but honestly, I like doing them for my own record if nothing else. During the early part of this pregnancy, it's been fun to look back on my posts for Ella and Lucas to see how this pregnancy is similar/different. I'll only do them once every 4-6 weeks or so, so just bear with me! And feel free to skip entirely if you're not into these sorts of posts ;) I won't even be mad!

Here we go...BABY FERG 3.0!

{please ignore that week 13 photo...I was DYING from allergies!}

Size of baby: an avocado
Weight gain: I had some major anxiety issues going on in November/December that caused me to lose quite a bit of weight before I got pregnant...however, I'm not sure if I can even use that as a plausible excuse for the 12 pounds (YES) I have gained so far. Woof.
Maternity clothes: At this point I’m playing a game called “how long can I wear my regular jeans?” I definitely have to unbutton them by the end of the day, but they fall down less than maternity jeans!
Gender: No clue. I had a dream a few weeks back that it was a girl....but the Chinese Gender Chart says boy, and that was right for Ella and Lucas.
Movement: I think I am feeling flutters and random rolls. Could be my organs though?!
Cravings: S’mores flavored anything, pasta salad, granny smith apples, yogurt, ice cream, Greek food. I refer to this as my #YOLOPREGNANCY. Probably the last time I'll ever be pregnant, so I might as well eat all. of. the. things. Right?!
Symptoms: I was slightly nauseous weeks 7-10, but not as bad as with Ella. I am constantly hungry. I could eat and eat and eat all day long (see also: weight gain). I'm starting to get some round ligament pain if I stand up or move positions quickly. I was suuuuuper tired at the beginning, but in the last week or so, my energy level is getting better. I do get tired easily, like walking up the stairs and/or carrying Lucas is a major workout! I have been crazy clumsy and hormonal (sorry Trav!). My face is randomly breaking out, and I just feel like I'm getting uglier in general, ha! This child is stealing my beauty! 😂
Workouts: I started off running 4 miles, 4 times a week, and got down to 10:00 mile pace pretty quickly (I attempted 8:30-9:00 mile pace for a few weeks but it was HARD). I went down to 3 miles, 4 times a week on week 11 and I'm still aiming for that. Running is so much harder this time around. My goal is to make it to 20 weeks, but ultimately, my body (and this baby) are in charge and I'm not going to stress myself out about it if I stop before then.
Labor signs: Nope.
ISO: Adding this one this time around! If you need a refersher on ISO, feel free to click {here}. They checked my titers at my 12 week visit and they are still at 64 (which is what they were last year, not pregnant, a year after Lucas was born). I was obviously referred to the high risk doctor (MFM), who didn't want to see me until 18 weeks. I felt a little nervous about waiting till 18 weeks to see what exactly was going on with this baby, so I called them back to see if they would see me before then, and they got me in next Monday! (I'll be 16 weeks, 4 days!) They will be doing an MCA scan to check for anemia, as well as an attempted anatomy scan (they'll have me come back at 18 weeks if they can't see everything though). I'm also hoping they can do a test to find out baby's blood type.
What I miss: Definitely alcohol.
Best moment this week: Finding out, sharing our news, seeing this sweet little baby on the ultrasound monitor twice, hearing it's heartbeat (it was REALLY high the first time!). Also, this sounds dumb, but I'm so glad to be back on Facebook and in my ISO Moms group for them to answer all of my questions! And of course, loved celebrating Easter with our little family….we will have 3 Easter baskets next year!!

Looking forward to: Going to the doctor on Monday to get some much-anticipated answers!!! Please keep us in your prayers!!

Bumpdate {weeks 36-38}

Size of baby: A ripe papaya to a spaghetti squash...estimated to weigh around 8 pounds with his stomach in the 99th percentile!
Weight gain: 40 pounds, according to my scale at home. Woof. +43 pounds according to that dreaded scale at my doctor's office.
Maternity clothes: UGH.
Gender: It’s a BOY!!!

Movement: Yep, he’s still moving around in there, although I have no clue how he has any room!
Cravings: Same….Greek stuff, buffalo chicken, pasta and strawberries. And lots of gelato. And SODA. Diet Dr. Pepper = everything.
Symptoms: So. much. peeing. All the time. It’s getting so old. Also having lightening crotch (TMI? Sorry!) pretty much any time I bend over. It is painful and I feel like he’s just going to fall out! I am also drooling a lot in my sleep, super random. Having some contractions but they never amount to anything. And I am just plain uncomfortable 99.9% of the time!
Workouts: Ha.

Sleep: Can’t fall asleep. Ready to go at 6 AM. And the peeing every hour on the hour….blahhhh.
What I miss: Everything…but am trying to soak up these last few moments of being pregnant!
Best moment this week: Seeing baby boy on the ultrasound monitor at the specialist last week. Spending lots of one-on-one time with Ella before she becomes a big sister! Also, all of the baby prep I’ve done over the past week…nursery is done, bags are packed….we are ready!!!

Looking forward to: Meeting this baby hopefully soon!

Bumpdate {weeks 33-35}

Time to check in for another little update!
First, I wanted to share with you what exactly has been going on with me and this little baby. (And I apologize if you've heard this from me already 1000 times!)

Basically, I have something that is called Rh disease/isoimmunization/Rh incompatibility (it's basically all the same thing, but different places call it different things). If you want to google and freak yourself out like I did, you can read here, here and here. I have a negative blood type, so when I was pregnant with Ella (who is a positive blood type), I had to get a rhogam shot, both at 28 weeks and then when she was born to basically prevent this isoimmunization from occurring in my next pregnancy. Usually the first pregnancy is fine, which it was with Ella. But something happened either when she was born or when I was newly pregnant with this second baby where my negative blood mixed with either Ella's or this baby's positive blood. Now the rhogam shots will not work and my body has been building up antibodies against this positive blood. Basically, my body is trying to reject little Baby Ferg. So it's been a little scary to say the least! They have been monitoring me at my regular OB's office with monthly blood tests. This part still confuses me a little bit, but they told me if my titer levels (don't ask me what that is, but I think it has something to do with how many antibodies my body is making) got above 1:8, I would be referred to a high risk specialist. They were 1:8 at 32 weeks, and then when they did a redraw just to make sure at 34 weeks, the titer levels had gone up to 1:16. So off to the specialist I went, freaking out after googling that my baby could either be severely anemic or stillborn from this!

Luckily at the specialist, they did a very thorough ultrasound where they examined all of baby's organs and his brain very, very closely. They were mostly concerned with the rate of blood flow into his brain. They said it looked really good, and was 1:1 second. However, if it gets above 1:1.5 seconds, then we may have to discuss a possible blood transfusion and/or inducing me right then and there. (Um, YIKES.) I go back to the specialist next week, so please pray that he is still doing well!

Whew! Ok, onto the "fun" stuff...

Size of baby: He has gone from a cauliflower blossom to a bunch of carrots, which doesn’t seem very big to me. At our ultrasound, we were told he is about 6 pounds, 2 ounces and his head and stomach are HUGE (90 %ile)!
Weight gain: Well, on my home scale I am still up {only, ha} 35ish pounds. Of course, at the stupid doctor’s office, I am up 38 pounds. That scale HATES me.
Maternity clothes: Yes and I am OVER them.
Gender: It’s a BOY!!!

Movement: He hasn’t been moving as much since he’s huge and likely running out of room, but he does roll around in there from time to time and I love it! His head is for sure down, so it’s fun guessing what is an arm or leg! He feels like he is all the way up in my ribs, which he very well might be, given his size!
Cravings: Greek anything, strawberries.
Symptoms: My sciatic nerve continues to just about kill me if I’ve been sitting for a long time, but then I can’t stand up for very long either. It’s getting hot out, and my rings are basically being shoved on to my finger every morning. My belly button has also popped out and is so weird to look at. Bending over = just kill me. I've also been feeling some minor contractions.
Workouts: Took a walk up to our neighborhood park with Ella…it was so freaking hot and hard!! I was dead.

Sleep: Definitely getting harder and harder to fall asleep. The bathroom thing is ridiculous…a “good” night would be getting up 2-3 times to pee, but it’s usually much more! And I can’t get comfortable…my hip will randomly start hurting for whatever reason and I can’t get back to sleep.
What I miss: Wine and being skinny!
Best moment this week: Hearing that our little boy was ok at our specialist appointment! I was so worried! And of course, loved seeing him on the ultrasound. We even got a few 4D pictures…he looks a lot like Ella! Runner up best moments: Snagging a City Select on MIC-IT and celebrating this little guy at my sprinkle!

Looking forward to: Can't wait to see this baby via ultrasound again next week...and meeting him in real life hopefully SOON!

Bumpdate {weeks 29-32}

Size of baby: He has gone from a Hawaiian pineapple to a Florida pomelo
Weight gain: Well, I am up to 29 pounds on my scale at home. The doctor's scale continues to hate me, and said I was up 33 pounds.
Maternity clothes: All the time. I am getting to the point where my regular tank tops and t-shirts are not quite long enough. Only a few more weeks till I start stealing Trav's shirts to sleep in!
Gender: It’s a BOY!!!

Movement: Yep. I still haven't been able to tell if he has the hiccups though, but he spazzes out from time to time and it cracks me up!
Cravings: Strawberries (thank God it's almost strawberry season!) and fruit sorbet. Anything chocolate after a meal.
Symptoms: Ugh. So many things. It is too early in the game for all of this. But….my back is killing me probably a good 50% of the day (worse in the evenings), sciatic nerve pain getting more consistent and intense, cramping/Braxton Hicks, feeling tired more frequently, feeling a little nauseous from time to time (especially in the mornings), SUPER hormonal/moody, I have to pee all. of. the. time., and I cannot stand up for literally more than 20 minutes. Basically I am just starting to get really uncomfortable, so I would appreciate if this child would be a week or 2 early and shorten my suffering!
Workouts: I've been going on short walks around the block with Ella, but I always have to stop back at home to pee/drink more water.
Sleep: Getting up at least twice (that’s the bare minimum) to pee. Sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night, I am ready to go with my day, and I have to make myself get back in bed and go to sleep!
What I miss: Wine. Always wine. Running/exercising. My regular clothes.
Best moments: Celebrating Easter with our little family. Can't wait to buy BOY Easter clothes next year! Also, during the Final Four games, Baby Boy was moving all around...he was so excited for the Tarheels! (We won't mention the National Championship game...)
Looking forward to: It's almost baby clothes washing time!!!! My favorite!!

Bumpdate {weeks 25-28}

AKA, the weeks when I got REALLY fat.

Size of baby: He has gone from a Napa cabbage to a tropical coconut
Weight gain: Ugh. I don't want to talk about it. I am so freaking HUGE. My home scale says I am up 23 pounds but the stupid scale at the doctor’s office said I am up 26 pounds! What. the. heck. I’m still going by my home scale. The doctor I saw last Thursday said she wasn’t concerned with my weight gain and I remember my other OB telling me with Ella, more weight gain = cuter baby so I’m subscribing to that philosophy again this time around.
Maternity clothes: Yep. I just got 5 t-shirts on a Facebook group, and am looking for more capris and maxi dresses. It has been so warm lately and I am realizing how few summer maternity items I own!
Gender: It’s a BOY!!!

Movement: Yes and the kicks are starting to get stronger and stronger.
Cravings: I have really been into Greek pasta salads, with red onion, tomatoes, kalamata olives, and feta cheese. Also wanting anything chocolate.
Symptoms: Feeling huge/fat/whale-like. Also starting to get what I think are Braxton Hicks? I never felt them with Ella, so I’m not totally sure that’s what they are. And just getting out of breath and tired of standing a lot more quickly these days!
Workouts: Walking and chasing Ella around!
Sleep: Starting to go downhill. It’s still decent but I am getting up twice a night to pee and sometimes have trouble getting back to sleep. Already?!
What I miss: Being skinny. My normal clothes.
Best moments: Passing my glucose test! Thank you, Jesus!!! Stocking up on baby boy clothes at some consignment sales. Making progress on his dresser (almost done!). And of course, hearing his little heartbeat at the doctor's!
Looking forward to: Finishing up the dresser! We need to fix a few small things, and then I can't wait to start stuffing his drawers full of little boy goodies! And I just ordered a few decor-type things off Etsy the other night, so I’m excited for those to arrive and to start putting everything together in his room!

Bumpdate {Weeks 19-24}

Whoops, have I really gone 6 weeks without posting an update on this not-so-little baby bump?! I know you all have been waiting on the edges of your seats, so here you go...

Size of baby: week 19, he was a zesty zucchini, now he is the size of a garden eggplant.
Weight gain: At the doctor’s last Thursday, the scale said I have gained 16 pounds. Woof. My scale at home says I have only gained 13 pounds though.
Maternity clothes: Yep. Leggings and tunics are my jam.
Gender: It’s a BOY!!!

Movement: Yes, lots!!! Ella almost got to feel him move this week! He stopped whenever she put her hand on my belly though! Already scared of his big sister?!
Cravings: Buffalo chicken anything and avocados. And pop tarts. All the strawberry pop tarts. I have got to stop.
Symptoms: So random, but my right pointer finger is super swollen and painful! The doctor said it wasn’t anything pregnancy related and to give it some more time; I must have done something weird to it! The heartburn is getting a little more intense (I had super bad indigestion Super Bowl Sunday from eating too much buffalo chicken dip). And I just feel huge, which is so bad this early! I don't remember feeling this whale-like with Ella until at least week 30 or later. Still having round ligament and sciatic nerve pain.
Workouts: I stopped running around 22 weeks, because I was only running 2 miles at a time and it was just kind of dumb to me. Plus, even on those 2 miles, my heart rate was getting a little too high and I had some bad pains in my stomach...so I figured I should just stop for now.
Sleep: Pretty good, except getting up to pee at least once a night.
What I miss: Being skinny. Watching the girls on the Bachelor makes me want to cry and never eat another pop tart again.
Best moment this week: Seeing our sweet boy at his anatomy scan! I love seeing all of the baby's hands/feet/spine, everything! It is so cool to me. Also, celebrating Ella's birthday! I thought back about the events of February 2 (when I went into labor) and 3 (when she was born), and I got strangely excited/nervous to do it all over again in a few months! Plus, next year, Ella will have a baby brother to help her celebrate her 3rd birthday!
Looking forward to: Finding a name for this child! I have yet to find a boy’s name that I love and I’m starting to stress a little bit about it! Dare I say suggestions are welcome?! I don't want anything that ends with -son, that could be a girl's name (i.e., I love Cameron, but it's becoming common for girls now!), or makes inappropriate initials/monogram (my husband is WTF, no joke).

Bumpdate {Weeks 15-18}

Size of baby: We have gone from an avocado at week 15 to a sweet potato at week 18!
Weight gain: At my 16 week appointment, the scale at my doctor's told me I was up 6 pounds. But, I had on my heavy rain boots! My scale at home tells me I'm still only up 1 pound (with no rain boots on, ha!). I have no clue how I haven't gained 1400 pounds with everything I've been eating.
Maternity clothes: Yep! Pants for sure...the belly band is super annoying already. Wearing a few maternity shirts, and some longer regular shirts.
Gender: It's a BOY!
Movement: Right around 15 weeks, I thought I felt somebody moving around in there. Now, at 18 weeks, it's definitely him! During the day, I don't feel him move as much because I am moving around so much and busy, but at night when I'm in bed, I can feel him kicking and moving all around in there!
Cravings: My new ones this month are cereal (I go through 2 boxes of Cocoa Pebbles a week, no joke) and bagels with cream cheese--specifically, everything bagels with strawberry cream cheese. Still not interested in meat, and can only eat chicken in very small amounts.
Symptoms: Still having a little bit of sciatic nerve and round ligament pains, but nothing too awful. I've also been slightly hormonal (sorry, Trav), but other than that, I feel great!
Workouts: Welp, I've gone from 3 miles down to a whopping 2 miles each run. I only need to run for 2 more weeks to make my goal of getting to 20 weeks!
Sleep: I busted out my pregnancy pillow on Christmas night and it has been as amazing as I remembered it to be!
What I miss: Wine! Fun cocktails! Alcohol in general!
Best moments: Seeing this little guy on the ultrasound screen at our elective ultrasound (and we can watch him on the DVD we got whenever we like!), and finding out it's a boy on Christmas!
Looking forward to: My anatomy scan next week and getting started on decorating his nursery!

1st Trimester Bumpdate

Well, well, well. Look who's back doing these darn bump dates.

Like I mentioned before, I am only planning on doing these once a month (or less)...but here's a little catch-up on the first 14 weeks!

Size of baby: Started off as a poppyseed (week 4...I found out I was pregnant at 3.5 weeks!) and now it is the size of a beet
Weight gain: I initially lost 5 pounds, which was awesome! I've gained 3 of those pounds back, but I'm still down 2 pounds from my pre pregnancy weight. I'll take it!
Maternity clothes: I started wearing some maternity jeans the last week or so, as well as breaking out my belly band for some other pants. I still have a pair of jeans that I can fit into without the belly band! Wearing normal shirts, but the tighter ones make my side rolls stick out.
Gender: Finding out on Christmas! I am thinking boy.
Movement: None yet!
Cravings: Pretty much the same as with Ella...pasta, mac and cheese, basically any carb, tomatoes, fruit snacks and chocolate. This time around, though, I have had the strongest chicken aversion. Actually any meat grosses me out! We have been eating lots of fish!
Symptoms: Thankfully, no morning sickness! I have been suuuuuuuper tired. Like, I took naps. And I never take naps. My energy level has started to pick back up this last week or so. I've also had a little heartburn and some sciatic nerve and round ligament pain. But other than that, I feel good!
Workouts: Running has been interesting. I've stopped running outside because my bladder can't hold it for 4 miles. Ha! On the treadmill, I am going at a 10:00 pace; I refuse to run any slower! I started out doing 4 miles 3-4 times a week, but now I am down to 3 miles each run. We'll see how long this lasts...my goal is to 20 weeks. (With Ella, I ran till 3rd trimester, but no way is that happening this time around.)
Sleep: Amazing, minus the whole getting up to pee part.
What I miss: Wine!!
Best moments: So many! Finding out, telling our families, seeing the baby (twice) on the ultrasound screen, hearing it's heartbeat, sharing the news on Thanksgiving, closing on our new house and moving in!
Looking forward to: Finding out if this little babe is a boy or girl on Christmas Day!

Bumpdate {40 weeks}

Well, it's Baby Ferg's due date, and while I just knew she'd be tardy for the party, she might be on her way very, very soon!!! Here's to hoping this is my last bumpdate!

Size of baby: a jack fruit?! Whatever the hell that is...If I’m still pregnant Monday, I get another ultrasound, so I’ll know a more exact size then.
Weight gain: I gained ZERO weight this past week! Wahoo! So still 41 pounds gained total.
Maternity clothes: Duh.
Gender: A GIRL!
Movement: She has really slowed down a lot this week! I’m already missing some of her little jabs and kicks! She’s just kinda rolling, but not as much as she used to.

Cravings: My appetite has lessened a little bit this week. But I did discover Raspberry Oreo Fudge Cremes, and ate the whole package in 2 days. They were the bomb.com
Symptoms: Still SUUUUUUPPPPER uncomfortable, and having to pee like every 5 seconds. Also the swelling is beginning to get a little out of hand...I can still fit my wedding band and engagement ring on my fat little finger, but my anniversary band? Not happening. We won't even mention the cankles...
Workouts: Nada. I think I will start walking baby out really, really soon though!
Labor signs: TMI for some people…When I got checked yesterday, my doctor’s whole face lit up and she said “Oh my gosh, her head is RIGHT THERE!” I couldn’t believe baby has dropped and is now at station -1!  I’m still only dilated to 1cm, but my doctor said she thinks I won’t make it another week! I’m having lots of contractions (had one at the doctor’s office, and asked my doctor if it was a Braxton Hicks...she felt my stomach and said “Nope! That’s a real one!”). They are slowly starting to get a little bit stronger and longer, but they are not falling into any sort of pattern. We shall see if I make it through the weekend…!!!
Sleep: Terrible! And I was so anxious after my exciting doctor’s appointment yesterday, that I barely slept at all last night.
What I miss: I. Cannot. Wait. To. Drink. Alcohol.
Best moment this week: I have a few….first, my husband surprised me with an early push present this week….he paid off my car (18 months early)!!!! And since we don’t share a bank account, this was a HUGE weight off my shoulders!!! Kathryn also came over on Wednesday and helped me finish the nursery! I hope to share pictures super soon—it looks great! And last, those 2 snow days we had Wednesday and Thursday helped me get ALL of my sub plans done! Such a huge relief to have that finished!!!
Looking forward to: HAVING A BABY!!!! I’m not going to lie, though, I’m kinda freaking out/really scared!!! What if I don’t bond with her? What if my delivery goes terribly wrong? What if I miss being pregnant?! Already moms…is this normal??!!

Fingers crossed that my next post is a birth announcement!!!!

Bumpdate {39 weeks}

Yes, I am still pregnant.
Yes, I am a whale.
And YES, I am uncomfortable!

Size of baby: a watermelon…HUGE!
Weight gain: Umm I am up another 2 pounds this week, bringing my total to +41 lbs. YIKES. I thought you were supposed to lose a little weight at the end?!
Maternity clothes: I literally have about 5 shirts that still fit me {this white one obviously does not} and maybe 2 pairs of pants. Thank God for leggings!
Gender: A GIRL!
Movement: Yep, she’s still rolling around as much as she can in there! The hiccups are my favorite. She has been getting them almost every night lately, right when I am trying to go to sleep. It just cracks me up. I know I’m going to miss all these little movements when she’s out in the world!
Cravings: Still really liking fruit. And lemon/lime things, which I haven’t craved since the very beginning of this pregnancy.
Symptoms: My belly has still been itchy on occasion, but the meds and creams help out a lot! I also got told at the doctor's that my ankles are looking "a little puffy," and my rings are super tight. But my main symptom is just that I am so freaking uncomfortable ALL of the time!
Workouts: Yeah, not so much. I may start walking again soon to get this baby out of me though…
Labor signs: Um, nothing. WTF. I have not dilated anymore since my previous appointment and the doctors still don’t think she’s going anywhere for a while. Still have some cramping, but nothing super intense or timeable.
Sleep: Go ahead and strap a bowling ball onto your belly, and try to sleep on your side. Not fun, right?!? Oh, and then get up at least 4 times throughout the night to pee, and try getting comfortable again…yeah, it is safe to say sleep has been less than stellar lately!
What I miss: At this point, I've been pregnant so long, I don’t even know what I miss anymore. I guess my regular clothes, since I see them hanging in my closet daily and none of them fit?!
Best moment this week: My sweet 4th grade team threw a diaper shower for me at school yesterday, which was awesome! And then today, my room mom had a shower/party for me and my students! They tried to guess when Baby Ferg was going to make an appearance…most of them said between February 6-10. UGH, come on you guys. One kid even put 2019…um if I had to be prego for 5 more years, I’d probably die. As if that wasn’t enough love for Baby Ferg, this afternoon, Travis’ work threw him a shower which I got to attend as well! He was so surprised (he hates surprises, but luckily, he was nice about it) and we got tons of great stuff for baby! We are so lucky!! :)
Looking forward to: Baby Ferg making her grand entrance into the world!

Bumpdate {38 weeks}

I'm going to try to do these updates on time (every Friday) from here on out since we are getting SOOO close to baby time!!!

{I'm super excited that I only have to take a few more hideous pictures of myself!}

Size of baby: a pumpkin
Weight gain: OMG. I had 2 (yes, 2) doctor’s apoointments this week (more on that later). At Tuesday’s appt, I was up to 156….and by Thursday, I was up 3 more pounds to 159! I’ve never seen these numbers before!!! Woof and woof. Who gains 3 pounds in 48 hours?! I do, apparently.
Maternity clothes: What do you think?!?
Gender: A GIRL!
Movement: She has slowed down a little bit this week, but still rolling around in there! Every time I lean over, I can feel her trying to adjust herself…I can imagine its getting crazy crowded in there!
Cravings: I’ve wanted a lot of fruit lately. And still anything with tomatoes (which I guess is also a fruit) or chocolate.
Symptoms: My itchy belly came back hardcore last Sunday! The hydro-cortisone cream that had worked 2 weeks ago was not doing the trick, so I finally called the doctor because I literally could. not. stop. itching. They had me come in on Tuesday (hence, the 2 appts this week). Apparently, I have PUPP, which is a common pregnancy itch/rash but is harmless to me and baby, other than the obnoxious itching. The doctor wrote me a prescription for something to make the itching stop, and it actually worked…after just one pill! Magic! I just hope the itching stays away from now on!!
Workouts: Officially made it through week 1 of being super lazy. See also: weight gain.
Labor signs: I got checked yesterday…and I’m making progress!!! I am 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. I realize that this is not really a labor sign, though, because some people don’t do anything till they have crazy strong contractions, and other girls I've talked to have been whoa dilated for weeks before they went into labor. I am continuing to have spontaneous period-cramp contractions, but my doctor told me that I have at least another week (if not more) till baby actually graces us with her presence.
Sleep: With the cray cray itching, I hardly slept Sunday and Monday nights…plus, every time I got up to pee, I couldn't fall back to sleep because I kept itching more! Now that the itching is gone, I have slept GREAT the last few nights!
What I miss: Doing simple things without my big belly in the way….like washing the dishes without my back hurting, putting on shoes (and pants, leggings, underwear, etc), wiping….yes sorry, TMI, but all of my day-to-day functions are getting tough!
Best moment this week: Our ultrasound yesterday! Even though my stomach is measuring at 35 weeks, the ultrasound showed that baby is measuring right on track and is around 6 pounds, 15 ounces! Her back is now over on my right side and her feet are on my left, so she has flipped over a little bit since our last ultrasound. She was sucking on her hand pretty much the whole time, which I thought was the sweetest thing ever. We didn't really get any good pics, but here is the best one I got:

This was actually taken the split second she took her fist out of her mouth, and was sticking her tongue out at us!
Looking forward to: Meeting this chica!!! Hoping it’s sooner rather than later…

Bumpdate {37 weeks}

We are really in the final stretch now!
Baby Ferg is *technically* FULL TERM!

I know they've recently changed full-term to being 39 weeks, but I'm going to pretend I didn't get that memo and say that she is welcome to come any time (although I don't think she will for a while)!!!

Size of baby: a winter melon
Weight gain: Sooo according to the doctor’s scale, I weigh 157 pounds! Yikes!! So I've gained, ohh….37 pounds :/ In my defense, I was wearing boots AND my heavy Michael Kors watch. So maybe I’m only up more like 35 pounds? Whatever, I don’t care anymore.
Maternity clothes: Yes, and this week I have officially graduated into wearing Travis’ t shirts to sleep. My maternity clothes are also getting super small (see above picture)!
Gender: A GIRL!
Movement: Yes she is still rolling around in there! I love when I can see her little arms or legs sticking out of my stomach like a little alien baby. She’s also been getting the hiccups more frequently and it just cracks me up to feel her little body twitching so rhythmically in there!
Cravings: Tomatoes and chocolate as usual…also I haven’t had Chipotle since last weekend, so that may be what I need to get for dinner tonight.
Symptoms: Ok, I managed to get my rash and itchy belly from last week cleared up, but it’s still itching from time to time because my skin is SUPER dry. I've been getting headaches and heartburn more frequently. This isn't really a symptom, but my belly button is super flat and almost an outie…it looks so weird! Mostly, I am just super uncomfortable. I don’t even know how to describe it…like I am constantly wearing a fat suit? With a 6-8 pound ball pushing on my bladder? Super fun.
Workouts: I think I walked about 8 miles this week, but I’m over this whole exercising thing. :) I’m going to try this thing called “being a lazy bum” for the next few weeks. I’m pretty excited about it.
Labor signs: I’m adding this one this week because I am now full-term (!!!!) and should be having labor signs. I got checked at the doctor on Thursday, and no such luck. {Less than 1 cm if you are really curious!} I am still having these period-cramp contractions, but they haven’t gotten stronger or more frequent than last week. They are just annoying. My doctor told me she thinks baby will be late…yay.
Sleep: I am lucky if I sleep for 6 hours these days. First of all, I am not tired when I try to go to sleep. Then, I am still struggling with getting comfortable and then getting comfortable again after I get up to pee. I honestly pee like 5+ times a night, its ridiculous!
What I miss: Sleep?! My body. My clothes. Everything!
Best moment this week: Putting in the car seat! I figured it out all by myself (I was pretty proud) and now we just need to get it inspected to make sure I did it correctly! It’s so weird to drive around with that thing in the backseat (although, I've since taken the car seat out and just kept the base in…I heard if you get in an accident with the car seat, you have to buy a new one)!
Looking forward to: We are getting another ultrasound on Thursday because now little lady is measuring small. I am praying everything is ok, but excited to see her again!!

Bumpdate {36 weeks}

Happy Sunday friends!
This week was highlighted by some *fun* pre-term contractions and then a lovely, insanely itchy rash that appeared when I decided to put a new kind of lotion on my belly. Don't stray from your skin care regimen, ladies! We also had our childbirth prep class yesterday, which was a total waste of time (NOT recommended...it was 7 hours of stuff I already knew!)! So I'm sorry if this post sounds super whiny...but it's been kind of a long week!

Size of baby: a honeydew
Weight gain: If my scale is correct (which it rarely is), I have gained about 33 pounds. Considering I haven’t gained much weight the past 2 weeks, I guess I’ll take it. I mean, how much more can I gain in 4 weeks (famous last words, right)?!
Maternity clothes: Totes ma-goats.
Gender: A GIRL!
Movement: I love feeling her move and kick, but sometimes, good God! She is forceful! Take a 5 pound weight and drop it on your stomach—and you’ll have an idea of what it feels like! My favorite is when I’m driving and she decides to beat me up….your mama is a really bad driver as it is, baby girl, don’t cause me to get in a wreck!
Cravings: Same old…last week I could not bring myself to eat hamburgers and hot dogs at our tailgate, so I stopped and got Chipotle to eat instead!
Symptoms: I am pretty sure I had, literally, every pregnancy symptom possible this week. Ready? Headaches, nausea/morning sickness, shortness of breath, fatigue, super dry skin, crazy itchy belly (and scary rash!), cramping/pre-term contractions like whoa (Monday night I really thought I was going into labor because they were so constant!), insomnia, sciatic nerve pain, inability to go #2 (sorry! TMI!), heartburn/indigestion, forgetfulness/pregnancy brain, feeling the need to clean and nest 24 hours a day. I now feel like a 90 year old, when you ask them how they’re doing and they go on and on about all of their health problems.
Workouts: I managed four 3-mile walks again this week. Because of the pre-term contractions I’ve been having, I think from here on out, I’m just going to take it easy and walk when it’s ok for me to walk. I still want baby to stay in there a little bit longer, and I don’t need to get on that treadmill to walk her out just yet!
Sleep: I’m still having a hard time falling—and now staying—asleep. I just cannot get comfortable to save my life. I get up probably 3-5 times a night to pee. My itchy belly also wakes me up from time to time…it is so annoying!
What I miss: While I don’t miss the hangover, New Year’s Eve just wasn't the same with out some real champs.
Best moment this week: The rug coming in and getting the nursery almost done! I’ll be posting pictures super soon! Also, I’m so excited it’s 2014 now so I can say “I’m having a baby this year!”
Looking forward to: Finishing up the last few details in the nursery…we are so close, y’all!!
Now if I could just stop itching this belly....
