Weekending

We had a fun little weekend!!

Since we went through 5 pounds of strawberries in less than 2 days, we decided to go back to the strawberry patch Saturday morning!

This time we picked 6 pounds of strawberries!

 (Yes I know I should fill up more than one container, but then that's more containers to make sure Lucas doesn't get into and eat before we've paid for them...plus this way, it gives us an excuse to go back to the strawberry patch every few days and get a slushie!!!)

We also took a tractor ride!

Lucas clearly did not want to sit still...he was VERY excited about being on a tractor!

Saturday afternoon, Trav had to go into work, so the kids and I ran a bunch of errands.

Example A is why I always do grocery shopping while Ella is at preschool. She found this cereal at Aldi and HAD to have it. I can't wait for her to eat just the marshmallows out of it. 

We also stopped at the paint store to get some paint for the nursery!

This is what I'm going with! One accent wall (behind where the crib will go) in Naval and the other 3 walls in Gray Screen.  I found this picture on Pinterest and just went with it. Still deciding on everything else in the room...doing navy in a nursery for the THIRD time is tough. I have to do something to mix it up this time around. 

Sunday morning, we dedicated a solid four hours to picking up a new-to-us swing set! This sweet lady I work with at the Y was giving hers away since her boys are older now, and I quickly called dibs! We got a truck from Home Depot (well, the first Home Depot we went to, I saw the truck driving away while Trav was inside trying to reserve it...so we had to go to another, farther away Home Depot but whatever) and then made 2 trips from her house to our house. This thing is huge! 

Lucas wanted to play on it while the guys were taking it apart! You can see it's pretty worn, but nothing a good pressure washing and some staining can't fix! This is what it looks like new and put together ;) 

After that whole adventure that took WAY longer than I ever anticipated (isn't that always how it happens?!), I quickly rushed off to April's baby sprinkle!

Sarah, as usual, was the hostess with the mostess. I am still dreaming about these fruit tart pie things she had. OMG. So YUM. 

 

Now if would just stop raining so the assembly guy can come and put our swing set together!!!

Easter Weekend Recap!

We had a fabulous Easter weekend this year! 

On Saturday, one of my best friends from high school stopped at our house for a quick visit before they headed down to Hilton Head for their vacation! We took all 5 kids out to breakfast and it was every bit a circus as you can imagine. Including Lucas eating crayons. 

Ava is about 8 months older than Ella and the 2 girls played so nicely together! Ella had been so excited to see her friend Ava!

After they left, we took the kids up to BlackLion to see the Easter Bunny!! 

They were both really excited!!!

I was honestly shocked that Lucas didn't cry!! He loved the "Hop Hop"!!! 

Ella had been asking to make an Easter egg tree, so after nap that is what we did! Or, tried to do. We don't have any good trees to hang eggs from, so we settled for decorating this bush instead! Ha!

I stayed up too late Saturday night getting the kids' Easter baskets together. Half of the stuff didn't even fit in their baskets, which is sign #1 that I bought way too much! Oh well! 

I can't believe next year we will have THREE little baskets! 

Sunday morning, we went to church! Ella was beyond excited to put some flowers on the cross.

Lucas was not so excited to take pictures by the same cross! Maybe because he was stuck in the nursery during the service and didn't get to put flowers on it?!

We came back home real quick and let the kids check out their Easter baskets. 

Ella was super excited about the Paw Patrol fork and spoon I (whoops, I mean the Easter Bunny) found at Aldi, while Lucas couldn't figure out which truck/car/train/helicopter/tractor to play with first! 

I also managed to take a few pics of the kids with their now empty baskets!

Then we went to the Hornets game!

We went to Trav's office at halftime, and found this bobblehead! Yes, it's his very own bobblehead. I about died laughing. 

The kids were super entertained by it. Guess I know what to get them for the next holiday ;)

After the game and really quick naps, my parents arrived and we all played outside for a little bit. And took a few pictures on the front steps. (I mean, it's a rare occasion these days when I have my fancy camera out and ready, so why not take advantage?!)

We ended our Easter Sunday at a restaurant (yay for not having to cook!)...Lucas's favorite part was the giant choo-choo on the wall!

ALL of the Easter Things!

This was the weekend where we did every Easter activity possible.

Dye Easter eggs? Check.

Go on an Easter egg hunt (or 3)? Check.

See the Easter bunny? Check.

First up was the egg hunt at Queen's University on Saturday morning! 

Last year, we basically had to pick up the eggs for Lucas, since he wasn't walking yet and had no clue what was going on. This year, he was so into it and was all about getting those eggs!

Ella was on a different lawn with Trav, but she got just as many eggs!

{Side note: it was freezing. I'm pretty sure we saw sleet on our walk back to the car. Spring, where are you?!}

The Easter Bunny was there too! And Lucas wasn't terrified of it! Woohoo! 

Saturday afternoon, we dyed Easter eggs!

Lucas sat in his high chair, eating the cracked eggs, while Ella so diligently dyed the rest! 

Sunday morning, it was time for another Easter egg hunt, this time at church!

I went with Ella for this hunt, and Trav went with Lucas. {Who knows what the heck we will do on these Easter egg hunts with THREE kids?!?!}

Lucas's favorite part was getting the eggs out of the trees!

And, just when you thought we were done with Easter egg hunts....oh no, friends! That afternoon we had our neighborhood Easter egg hunt! 

Because they had different start times for different ages, we all got to watch Lucas, and then Ella get their eggs. Last year, Lucas took too long and we actually missed the start of Ella's age group's hunt. Luckily that did not happen this year! 

Ella really wanted to decorate her dyed eggs, so after our neighborhood egg hunt, that is what she did! 

And by "decorate," I mean she put Paw Patrol (for her) and Mickey Mouse (for Lucas) stickers on them.

Was that enough Easter fun crammed into one weekend?!
