Bennett Michael {4 months}

Dear Bennett,
Well hello sweet boy!!! I'm so sorry I'm a little late in getting this posted. You turned 4 months on Christmas Eve and we have just been SO insanely busy since then!! I'm happy to report your survived your first Christmas, but that is another post for another day! Let's take a look at what you've been up to between Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Height: 23.25 inches (<1 %ile, bless)
Weight: 12 pounds, 10 ounces (4 %ile)
Head circumference: 41.2 cm (34 %ile)

Clothes: You are 100% out of all newborn stuff! TEAR! You are most comfortable fitting in 0-3 month clothes, but are able to wear some 3-6 month stuff without it looking crazy huge. You are still in size 1 diapers.

Nicknames: Ben, Ben Ben, Benny, Benny Boo Boo, Peanut, Little Peanut, Peanut Butter, The Littlest, Big Guy, Little Guy, Hello MEEEE, Baby Bennett

Milestones: You still have absolutely ZERO interest in rolling belly to back. If we lay you on your belly, you are perfectly content to just hang out there. You do, however, have some interest in rolling from your back to your belly and have gotten about 3/4 of the way there a few times. You are also getting pretty good at sitting up assisted. I can even get you into a tripod and you'll sit by yourself for a very hot second before falling over. I'm pretty sure you had discovered your hands last month, but now you are flat out obsessed with them and are frequently seen sucking your thumb! Let's stick to the paci please....Mama doesn't want to buy braces in 10 years!

Sleep: You were doing SO well until literally the DAY you turned 4 months...but since I'm supposed to be writing this as if I wrote it on December 24, we'll save that for next month! Ha! So yes, you are a decent sleeper. You go to bed around 8 PM and wake up around 5:30 or 6 the next morning. I'm doing SO poorly with putting your in your crib for morning nap, but I do put you in it for your afternoon nap. During that nap, you will sleep from around 2:30 until 5 PM.

Best Moment:  All of the Christmas fun we've had! Meeting Santa, seeing the singing bears, Gingerbread Lane, Polar Express...you only get ONE 1st Christmas and we have done it up as much as possible for you, big guy!

Worst Moment: Probably that little cold you had right after we got home from the mountains. You were pretty miserable and I felt so bad because I was probably the one who gave it to you.

Likes: Ceiling fans, Christmas lights, your hands, your piano mat, riding in the car, when we say HELLO ME and smile at you really big, kicking your legs like a frog, your big brother and big sister, watching football with Daddy

Dislikes: Busting out of your swaddle (that we need to drop anyway...), being woken up, the "snow" we had a few weeks ago (it was too cold for you!), being hungry, having a dirty diaper.

Health: Aside from that yucky little cold at the end of November, you have been perfectly healthy! You've been pretty drooly and I'm wondering if you'll be getting teeth soon?! Also, MOST importantly, your hemoglobin was a record 12.7 at your 4 month check up last week!!! Which, I'm pretty sure is higher than mine currently is! So no more heel pricks for you until your NINE MONTH check up! WHAT?! Yayyayyay!!!!

Eating: You still nurse every 3 hours pretty much like clockwork. You're not the biggest fan of a bottle, so I've kind of avoided giving you one lately! Whoops, probably should get on that this month! We have been given the green light to start oatmeal/rice cereal but I think we will hold off another month, since you're really 3 months adjusted and that just seems really early for food to me!

Sweet little Bennett, every day you just get cuter and cuter!!! You were the very best Christmas present our family received this year (just 4 months early!). Your smile makes all of us so happy and we are so glad you are over your anemia! Your brother and sister couldn't be more obsessed with you, and you love them so much back! We can't wait to see all that you will accomplish in this new year, 2019!! We love you more than you know!
