Life with Ella {week 30}

We have had quite a busy week!!
Sorry I still haven't posted our pics from Hilton Head, but I promise those are coming soon!
In the meantime....

{Flag dress (I was determined to get one more wear out of it for the summer!) / Bow}

Monday was the first day of school for the kids here in Charlotte (and would have been for me, too if I had gone back to work!), so of course we had to have a photo shoot!

Yes, Ella is in "0 grade." And yes, she tried to eat the markers.

We also babysat for one of my favorite families...

And we went to Whole Foods to get some peaches!

Tuesday, we continued our grocery shopping adventures with a trip to Trader Joe's, where it was apparently baby hour and everyone just ooohh-ed and aahhh-ed over Ella!

I had to work at the Y on Tuesday afternoon and Ella decided to eat everything there.

The above picture would by exactly why she is super congested now! Ugh...I guess it would be worse if she was in daycare all day, but I just hate when she is not feeling well! Breaks my heart!

Anyway, Wednesday we had our little playgroup...

...and that evening Ella helped me with my fantasy draft for the all-girls league I'm in.
Hey, Dana, you only said husbands couldn't help, right?! ;)

Thursday, we finally tried those peaches! Not a huge fan at first, but after the first few tries, she actually enjoyed them!

I also went to the dentist Thursday, and someone (not mentioning any names, cough, cough, Ella) decided to pitch a fit while I was in the chair. The dentist came in to try and calm her down (he is the sweetest older man...and the official dentist of the Hornets! If you need a dentist in Charlotte, I highly recommend him!) and then finally, the receptionists had to come and hold her! Good grief! High maintenance much?!
She had been having such bad stranger anxiety lately. Anyone have any good remedies for that?!

At least she enjoyed the bag of goodies we got at the dentist...including a Disney princess toothbrush, that she can use when she's, oh, 5.

Throughout the day on Thursday (because, believe me, this took several tries), we had to decide on an outfit to wear to Ella's first UNC game Saturday. We had an embarrassing amount of options...

{1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9}

...and don't worry, there's more "winter options" in her closet. I clearly need help.

So what did I do the next day?! Hit up a consignment sale and buy more clothes, naturally. No more Tarheel stuff, but I did find a Panthers outfit for $4!

We also read one of my favorite bedtime stories to prepare Elle Belle for the magical land that is Chapel Hill!

Saturday we headed to Chapel Hill!!

Ella was in love as soon as we got there, even though it was 30587298 degrees. She stayed in the shade and played with all of her boyfriends.

Yes, all of my friends decided to have boys, leaving Ella to be the only girl at our tailgate. However, she was such a little ham all afternoon (and in my opinion, the sweetest, cutest, best-behaved baby ever) that I'm thinking some of my friends wish they'd had girls ;)

Ella also loved the actual football game (and everyone at the football game loved her, of course). She was not scared of the fireworks after every UNC touchdown, and she kicked her legs whenever they scored. She smiled when they made a good play, and only got fussy for a little bit when Carolina was majorly sucking it up. She is clearly her father's daughter!! It was a fabulous day, and Travis is so relieved his daughter loves football.

Sunday, my parents came to town and we went to Matthews Alive. It is this big festival nearby Charlotte with lots of food and art vendors. My friend, Kathryn's company sponsors the whole thing, so she had to work at it all weekend. So we went to visit her, and Ella met her first mascot (we had not seen Ramses at UNC the day before, unfortunately), Lugnut from Hendrick Motorsports! Haha, she was not impressed.

Ella did manage to get some adorable bows (did I mention I have a problem?!) and we all survived the heat!

Come back tomorrow for a 7 month update!! Where is the time going?!?!
