Life with Lucas {week 48}

Didn't I just write one of these like 3 days ago?! This week has flown by for some reason!

Anyway, this is a post that I probably could have broken up into 3 separate posts (Easter, strawberry patch, weekly recap), but out of sheer laziness, you get one post! So get comfortable because it was a full week for us!

First up, the strawberry patch last Thursday!

Ella miraculously only picked the red, ripe strawberries. Lucas picked leaves, flowers, straw, green strawberries...pretty much anything he could get his hands on.

And yes, she insisted on wearing her "sunnies."

We also saw our friends there!

That little guy right there is proof that a little (or on this day, quite a bit) of dirt never hurt anyone ;)

And of course, the BEST part about coming to the strawberry patch...strawberry slushies!!!!

Big shoutout to my wonderful mother-in-law for the CUTEST strawberry picking outfits!!! I am seriously obsessed and they were perfect for our outing!!!!
{They are from Shrimp and Grits Kids; Ella's and Lucas's}

Last Friday was gorgeous out, so we hit up a park in the morning...

...and our neighborhood park after nap!

Check out that diva on the left. I am in trouble in about 10 years....

Saturday, we had Rhys and Harry's birthday party!

Lucas was thirsty ;)

Rhys and Harry are brothers and their birthdays are only a day apart, so their mom decided to just combine parties and it was so much fun!

After naps, we went to the mall to see the Easter Bunny! First, they got their picture taken in this little set-up...

...before heading over to see the EB himself!

I was legitimately SHOCKED that we got both kids to smile! So thankful that Ella has outgrown her fear of the Easter Bunny and that Lucas isn't afraid of him...yet (next year will be a different story)!

Since it was Easter Eve (is that a thing?!), the last thing we had to do before bed was sprinkle some "bunny bait" on our front lawn, so the Easter Bunny could find our house!

It must have worked, because Sunday morning, the Easter Bunny had left all sorts of treats!

We also went to church and sat in the last row, because hello 2 little kids. I'd give Ella a solid B and Lucas a C+ for their behavior at church. Not too awful.

After church, I convinced everyone to take some pictures by our house.

Trying to get a good pic of the 2 of them was somewhat of a disaster.

And we went back inside to take a closer look at our Easter baskets!

We also decided to color Easter eggs because I had already bought all the materials, so better late than never, right?!

My parents arrived that afternoon, and Ella once again made my mom draw the entire Paw Patrol in our driveway. The newest addition was Sweetie; she is on the newer "Mission Paw" episodes. I mean, seriously?!

While all of that drawing was going on, I switched out both kids' car seats. Lucas finally moved up to Ella's old convertible seat and Ella finally got to sit in her new high back booster (that we got her for her birthday...2.5 months ago).

Because he's out of the infant car seat, I also got to take the car seat adapter off the stroller...which means a real seat now for Lucas! Might as well just send him off the college! 😭

No Monday morning would be complete without gymnastics! With jungle hats, of course.

After gymnastics, my parents had a special surprise: Costco!

So, last week, I randomly asked Ella if she could go anywhere on vacation, where would she go? She told me, "I wanna go to Costco! And see the rollercoasters." I was DYING. We do not have a Costco membership (I stopped going when Ella was a few months old because I just could never make it over there!), so I do not even know where she got this from. But it was hilarious, so my parents got us in with their membership card.

Ella was pretty darn excited about it!
We also bought a sh*t ton of crap for Lucas's birthday party. I have no clue how we ever fit everything in my car, but it was a small miracle that we were able to!

Tuesday meant Ella was back at preschool (Hallelujah!) so Lucas and I went to story time!

Yesterday, I had big plans to take the kids to the zoo, but it was really rainy and cold. So we stayed around Charlotte and went to the Nature Museum instead!

We ended our week with the Unicorn Frappuccino! It was super delicious! Ella drank half of it, so I don't feel quite as guilty about the 76 grams of sugar it contained... (also, if you read Lucas's 11 month update about Ella and I only eating garbage, pretty sure this is a perfect example of what my husband was talking about! Whoops!)

Have a great weekend friends!
