Happy First Day of Fall, y'all! Lucas is wearing pumpkins today for the occasion, but you can't tell because he loves to hold his hands like that!
Anyway, the first part of Lucas's 18th week was spent in Florida. I know, I still haven't blogged about that...but it's coming soon! Promise!
We drove back Sunday. It is a looooong drive but I will gladly do a Charlotte to Orlando trip over a Charlotte to Ohio trip ANY day.
When we got back, Trav started taking our bags upstairs, when he noticed it was a good 10 degrees hotter upstairs than down. Our a/c was out upstairs AGAIN. (It just went out a little over a month ago.) So another family sleepover downstairs it was. Not like we were looking forward to all sleeping in our own beds after our trip or anything...
When the repair guy came out Monday, we learned that we had to buy a whole new a/c unit for our upstairs (and downstairs will probably need to be replaced soon, too). Right in the middle of our bathroom renovation. Isn't that how it always happens?! When it rains, it pours I guess. So we are getting a new unit tomorrow (Friday!)...we have been camping out in the family room all week!
Monday was a hot (literally, it was 85* upstairs) mess of trying to get back in the swing of things. We ran about 185 errands, cleaned up the house a bit, and took Lucas's 4 month and 17 week pictures. Ella may or may not have watched shows on the iPad 85% of the day.
Tuesday, this diva went back to preschool....
...and this little monkey and I tried to get our lives in order some more!
Ella came home with the cutest little bear headband, but of course threw a fit when I tried to take a pic of her wearing it...
We are still on a big Disney kick over here, so yesterday we picked up a few more Disney movies from the library. Ella is obsessed with Ariel!
Yesterday afternoon was Ella's first dance class! She missed last week since we were in Florida, but I think she had a great time yesterday!
I hate having to watch her on this monitor, but I totally understand why they do it.
But gosh, did she look cute in her dance outfit! I can't even stand it.
Last night, we watched some very scary things on the news. I don't want to bring too much of it up on here, since I would like for this to be a happy space...but it's a very scary world we live in, and last night's events hit extremely close to home. In our Bible study, we have been talking about bring the light to other people's darkness.
So, here is a little bit of light to share with you... :)
(and his name, Lucas, even means "light giving" or "illumination," how perfect!)
Pleas keep our city and police officers in your prayers!
