Life with Lucas {week 34}

Happy Friday the 13th! We've been out of town, which is why I haven't posted anything in over a week and am a day late on this!
But...can we talk about this weather for 2 seconds?! Last weekend we were getting ready for a snow storm...this weekend, it is 77 degrees (it's JANUARY) and I'm getting ready to take my kids to the park! I'll take this weather over last weekend any day!

Going back to when the weather was much much colder, last Thursday was day 2 of Lucas's swimming lessons!

He decided to face plant when we were practice getting out of the pool, so he has a little bump on his head! He's ok though. Maybe next year I'll sign him up for gymnastics instead of swimming.

Friday, he had to get his second flu shot.

He could have cared less about the shot. He just wanted all of that exam table paper!

We stopped at the mall on our way home from the pediatrician, mostly to get Ella a hat and gloves (she didn't have any... #southerner) for the big snow storm, but we also stopped by the Lilly Pulitzer section in Belk. I am so glad we did! I found a dress for Ella for $24!!! Totally made up for screaming at my computer during the Lilly After Party Sale the day before.

Saturday morning we woke up to SNOW! Actually, not really. It was mostly ice and we could still see our grass. 😂
But hey, Ella loved it and thought she was in a scene from Frozen.

Surprisingly, Lucas liked it, too! Further proof that he is the happiest baby ever...Ella screamed her head off during her first snow!

Ella made Trav build her Olaf (the snowman from Frozen). We hardly had enough snow to do that...he had to use the snow from on top of our patio table, ha! And he made the world's smallest snowman. But Ella loved it, and that's all that matters.

By this point, Lucas and I were really cold, so we watched the snowman building from inside by the warm fire.

On Sunday, Lucas got to have his first modeling experience! I am having a Shrimp and Grits Kids trunk show (shameless plug: let me know if you'd like to come! Or you can order stuff online using my hostess code: 62438 😊), so the main rep, Tammy, had all of the hostesses and their kids over to try on the clothes! Everything is so, so, so, so, SOOOO cute! (Which is why I am having a show...once I decided I wanted all of the clothes, I figured I should prob try and get some sort of a discount, ha!)

Lucas was a natural!

Ella did ok (when she wasn't screaming, "SMILE!" instead of actually smiling), but her favorite part of the day? Playing with Tammy's daughter's Frozen toys.

Monday morning was this little monkey's first day of gymnastics!

Unlike last year, when I got to participate with Ella, we now have to watch her class from the Parent Observation Room, AKA the women's outdoor pool locker room. They had a nice little set up in there so we could see what all Ella was doing!

Tuesday, it was time to head to Farmville (my parents' town), so we dressed in our finest farm attire!

First though, Ella had to go to preschool and Lucas had another swim lesson!

And then we road tripped up to Virginia! We stopped at my mom's office, since it's 25 minutes closer to Charlotte and we all needed to get out of the car at that point. Ella learned all about her heart!

Lucas tried zucchini for the first time in my old high chair!

So I know you're thinking, it's so random that we would go to Virginia, in the middle of the week, right after a big snow storm, right? Right. So, the main reason we went was because we had tickets to PAW PATROL LIVE! Yes, this is a real thing. My parents found out the Paw Patrol was coming to Richmond (an hour away from them) and immediately bought tickets. Ella was so excited, it was like Christmas morning all over again!

It was definitely interesting. But Ella really really loved it, and was already asking to go back and see it again before we had even left the theater.

On our way home, we stopped at Wegmans, which was quite an experience. I totally get why all of my New York friends are obsessed!

Ella ended her fun-filled day with some sherbet! Always living the dream when you're at your grandparents' house.

Have a great weekend friends!!
