Bumpdate {28 weeks}

I know I say this almost every week, but this pregnancy is flying by! I can't believe I am 2/3 of the way done already!!

Size of baby: An eggplant
Weight gain: I about sh*t my pants when I got on the scale at the doctor’s Thursday…143 pounds!! YIKES! Which means I have gained a whopping 23 pounds!!! What the heck?! My doctor reassured me that this is exactly where she would like me to be (remember, she wants me to gain 40 pounds), but I feel like Shamu already. I am hoping that my “more weight gain = cuter baby” theory is true! Ha!
Maternity clothes: For sure! Even some of my regular t-shirts are becoming too small. And my regular jeans? Forget about it.
Gender: A GIRL!
Movement: Yes, lots! I read somewhere that week 28 is the baby’s most active week (later on they run out of room to move much) and she is definitely rolling around a bunch in there. I think I’ve felt hiccups a few times, and my new favorite game is to guess which body part she is moving. Her head is (I think?) right up in my rib cage, so that’s uncomfortable, but other than that, I love feeling all of her little movements!
Cravings: Same! Pasta, tomatoes, mac & cheese, chocolate, apples and fruit snacks!
Symptoms: A little heartburn, some Braxton Hicks contractions, starting to get uncomfortable…tying my shoes is especially ridiculous! I've also been super emotional and cry at pretty much anything. And also my skin is getting super dry, no matter how much lotion I put on!
Workouts: 10 miles this week and I can officially say I am DONE running for this pregnancy! I made it to 3rd trimester, which was my goal, but now it is getting wayyyy too hard and my heartrate is a little bit above where it should be. I am going to try to walk a few miles every day from here on out though.
Sleep: Ok once I fall asleep. I will be so tired, but the second I go to lie down, the tiredness disappears! Getting comfortable in bed is also a challenge…I hate sleeping on my side! UGH!
What I miss: Regular clothes!! And sleeping on my stomach.
Best moment this week: I have a few!
1. Getting the nursery painted last weekend! Our painter even touched up the trim for free and everything looks so great…the color turned out perfectly!

2. FINALLY getting our crib! (Thank you, Babies R Us for not calling me to tell me it was in…and then for not informing me that the box would not fit in my SUV. We had to take all of the pieces out of the box in the middle of the parking lot! #whitetrash)
3. Passing my glucose test! I really thought I was going to fail!
4. Hearing our baby’s sweet heartbeat and knowing that everything is going well and right on track in there!
Looking forward to: My baby shower next Sunday! I can’t wait to celebrate Baby Ferg with some of my favorite people!
