Andrea's Sorbet Recipe

Sorry I have been so MIA lately! We just got a TON of new furniture, plus our new king size mattress, so I've been busy moving furniture around, assembling stuff, redecorating, etc.! I will share pics soon, but it's still a work in progress!!

Today, though, get excited because I am going to share with you something I have been enjoying all summer long!! My friend Andrea shared this sorbet recipe with me, and it is so easy and simple to make! I've been making different flavors every week (except last week I made mango and that didn't turn out so great)! You will need an ice cream maker or the attachment for the Kitchen Aid mixer...

{First, make sure you've had the ice cream bowl in the freezer for at least 15 hours}
2 cups fruit (I used blueberries, strawberries and raspberries)
Juice of 1 lime
3/4c. Water
1/2c. Sugar

For simple syrup:   On the stove in a medium saucepan, combine water and sugar.  Bring to a boil, and allow to boil for about 10 minutes, stirring periodically.

 Make sure all of the sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool for about 45min.

{Note: I am not a food photographer haha}

In a blender or food processor, purée the fruit until smooth and add the lime juice.  Add the cooled simple syrup and mix well.

Assemble your mixer for ice cream making and set to the stir setting - speed 1.  Pour the fruit mixture in the bowl and stir for 7-12 min or until desired consistency.

Immediately transfer sorbet to airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.

Enjoy!
