Life with Lucas {week 43}

Happy St. Patrick's Day Eve, and Happy first day of March Madness!! 🏀

Last Thursday, Lucas and I decided to run up to Ella's preschool instead of drive to pick her up.

It was about 2 miles each way, and I thought it was going to be totally awful with both kids in the Double Bob (I hadn't run with it before this), but surprisingly it wasn't too bad! My arms did hurt when I had to push them up a hill, but other than that I didn't notice much of a difference from the single Bob.

Friday, it was UNC vs Dook again, so we had to decide which dress to wear! Too bad we don't have more options, ha! (Actually, there are more options in her closet!)

We walked up to the park to play and have a picnic lunch!

That night, I went to a consignment sale at a local church. Ella thought she was in a castle!

I was trying not to buy too much, but got all of this for a little over $30!

I also consigned some of my kids' old clothes at this same sale and made over $175! So yay for that!!!

That night, we let Ella stay up to watch the UNC game. We ordered pizza, too, and she was basically living the dream. Except then UNC lost.

Saturday morning, we had the most fun birthday party ever at Ben and Jerry's! Seriously, it was such a good time. I am adding it to my mental list of February birthday party locations (having a winter birthday is NOT fun when it comes to party planning) for Ella!

The kids got to make cookies, take a tour of the ice cream shop, try some ice cream...

...make tie-dye shirts (Ella wasn't sure about wearing the apron, but I'll be darned if she got any ink on her ice cream dress!)...

...and of course had ice cream cake at the end!

Such a fun time!!!

Sunday morning, we all woke up an hour later (thanks, Daylight Savings! My kids actually slept until 7:30/8:00!) to SNOW!!

I was totally game for going out and playing in it, but by the time we got our acts together, it looked like this:

So we settled for snowman outfits and pictures on our back patio.

Monday, after gymnastics, we had to make our brackets for March Madness!! This is now Ella's 4th time making a bracket (she "made" her first one when she was just 6 weeks old!) so she is an old pro. No surprises here, she picked UNC to win the whole thing. Duh.

Lucas was a bit more challenging. He had absolutely NO interest in making any picks and just wanted to crawl all over the bonus room instead. I wrote out every team onto note cards (hello, should I get a life sometime soon?!) and thought he would just crawl towards the team he wanted, but nope. He totally bypassed the cards and would just head toward whatever toy he saw. So, I had to literally wave both cards in his face. So who even knows how his bracket will turn out. He also happened to pick UNC to win it all though...funny how that happened. 😉

Tuesday, we went to baby story time while Ella was at preschool and we were actually EARLY! What.

This sweet boy crawled all around, clapped his hands, and of course had fun with the bubbles!

Yesterday we spent an eternity at the Apple Store. And my computer is still crazy slow, so blahhh. Good thing this sweet girl was super well behaved and patient (even if her little brother wasn't)!

We ended our Wednesday with a little trip to Target. They have these hats in the dollar section! I would have totally bought one for Lucas, had he been able to keep it on his head for longer than .2 seconds.

I'm off to watch wayyy too much basketball! Love this time of year!!! I really hope my bracket isn't totally busted in like 2 days, ha!

Life with Lucas {week 42}

Sorry I have been so boring lately!!
I feel like I haven't had anything exciting to blog about except these weekly updates...plus my computer is SO slow (I really need to take it in to the Apple Store), so I just don't have the time to sit in front of it daily and wait around for my pictures to load!

Anyways...Lulu has lots of new tricks, but his favorite is pulling up and standing on just about anything.

Oh and he still loves putting everything he can in his mouth!

Friday, we went to Perfect Balance for their Tot Time. We hadn't been here in forever, but Ella loved showing off her gymnastics skills and Lucas got to play a little bit, too!

Ella walked all by herself to the end of this balance beam and then jumped off! I was really impressed!!

Friday night, I went to a consignment sale. I told Trav I wasn't going to buy much (I really just needed pajamas for Lucas) and then I came home with all of this. Whoops. And no pajamas for Lucas...I did find a sleep sack though!

Our weekend was super uneventful! We made a birthday card for my brother...

...and got ready for the UNC vs Dook game!

Seeing as Mr. Lulu is now the biggest fan of pulling up, we had to lower his crib mattress again. I also went ahead and put that wrap on the top so he won't eat the wood....and I also added the mesh bumper just because sometimes he does enjoy trying to get his arms stuck in the slats.

We let Ella stay up late to watch the UNC vs Dook game (she went to bed at halftime)...she absolutely loved it. Trav taught her how to make "3 goggles" and she loved looking for Rameses!

Sunday morning, we finally got our Easter decorations out and ordered an Easter basket for Lucas!

We also went up to the park for a little bit!

Monday morning was gymnastics again. Ella is finally getting the hang of jumping with both feet together! Her teacher was so excited!

My "low tire pressure" light came on (and UGHHH I just got new tires like a hot second ago!), so on Tuesday we went up to the tire place to get them checked while Ella was at preschool. They had a little play area for Lucas, and thankfully, my tires just needed a little air.

After that, we tried to go to story time but we were late (shocking), so we didn't get in. We went to Target instead!! Just as educational, right?!

Yesterday, we had story time at our church. Lucas put literally every. single. toy. on that floor in his mouth. So healthy.

After naps, we went to Ella's preschool to play on the playground! Ella loved pushing Lucas in the swing!

I'm sad we won't be able to go play outside much this weekend...it is supposed to SNOW here! What is that all about?!?!?!

Life with Lucas {week 41}

Another fun week in the books!

It was so nice out last Thursday, we walked up to our neighborhood playground to have a little outside time!

Friday morning, we stopped at a consignment sale. I found a few things, but nothing major...Ella scored these 4 Frozen books for $2 though! She was so excited!!

After that, we picked up Chick Fil A, then went to the airport to watch the planes and have a picnic lunch! It was almost 80 degrees, so a perfect day to do this!

This was more of what actually happened....Lucas made it his mission to crawl off that blanket as many times as possible and try to eat the grass!

So, while I didn't let him eat grass, I did let him have his first french fry...he loved it (duh)!

Lulu got a little too crazy...he is on the move and all over the place all. of. the. time!! I had to corral him in the stroller so that Ella and I could eat our lunches!

Saturday morning I had to get up early to work at the Y, but Lucas helped me get ready!

I came home from the Y a few hours later, and this guy was standing up left and right! What the heck.  Stop growing up, Lucas!

Pretty sure we also need to lower his crib. Again.

That afternoon, I took Ella to her friend, Frankie's birthday party! It was a Frozen Fever theme and Ella was absolutely beside herself. She could not even handle all of the Frozen decorations everywhere! And yes, she is wearing a Frozen smocked dress. You know it!

Sunday we just hung out around the house and played. I snapped this pic of Lucas in an old towel of Ella's and can't get over how much he looks like her here!!

Monday morning...gymnastics. Ella fell off the bar, whoops. She's ok though!

I forgot to put a stroller in the trunk of my car, so I had to carry Lucas in his car seat into the gym....I thought I might pass out! SOOO heavy!

And what would any weekly post be without at least one picture of us in Target?! Lucas was thinking hard about which toothpaste we needed to buy 😉

Tuesday, we hit up story time! It starts at 11:15...we walked in at 11:13 and they wouldn't let me in!!! I was so mad! Thankfully, my friend snuck us in! Haha. I miss our regular library (Morrison), which is closed for an 18 month renovation.

I also got a few pictures from Ella's preschool teachers. I love when they share pics with the parents!! She has been having the best time there this school year.

Yesterday was my mom's birthday, so we had to wear our "Farmville" outfits (because that is where she lives!) and sing to her!

We met up with Cooper and Mackenzie for some open gym fun!

These 2 girls are so funny. They couldn't find the car for this rollercoaster (some other kid was on it), so they decided to just scootch down the rollercoaster track without it. It was hilarious. 😂

Then we had a picnic lunch, swung on a big swing, and played!

Can't wait till these little guys can emerge from their strollers and run around, too!

And that's it for our week!! Have a great weekend! :)
