You Know You're Getting Old When....

...your idea of a fun (and I'm not even being sarcastic!) Friday night involves TCBY, wine and helping your friend do laundry :)

...your "fun" Saturday night consists of a sleeping husband and doing 4 hours of report cards (seven hours total, people! Those bad boys took FOREVER!)...

{all photos taken at like, 10PM}

...your whole Facebook news feed consists of people in their Halloween costumes (or their kids in Halloween costumes) and you're not even upset that you didn't dress up OR go out this year.

..you purposely stop on your run to take a picture of the pretty fall trees...

...carving pumpkins might be the most fun thing you did all weekend...

{the drill terrifies me!}

...and you can relate to any or ALL of the following:

Well, I'd love to continue searching for more applicable ecards; however, it is time for this old lady to go to bed!

So what we learned today is...I AM OLD.

And I promise, next time I'll be more interesting!!!
(Those darn report cards have just taken over my life lately!)

I'm BACK!

OMG has it really been almost THREE WEEKS since I've blogged?!?! YIKES!!!!! I am sorry friends!!!

Part of it is because I really haven't been doing anything that fun....but I dug up some pics for you to recap the last three weeks....

We attended another (shocker!) UNC football game. Although this one was WAY more sunny than last time, and included Tarheel Pop tarts!

{It was a white out! Obvi!}

Oh, AND we saw Ramses on the ride home! He was going back to his home on the farm!

{Travis took the pic, I was driving...so sorry for the poor quality!)

The next weekend, I decided to run 20 miles, oh ya know, just for fun.
Ha, I kid. (Unfortunately, not about the 20 miles, just about the part that it was for fun!)
Never, ever running a marathon again.
Mark my words!

I really did run the full 20--promise! My phone just died the last 1/2 mile, so annoying!!

{Travis also made me a yummy dinner that night!!}

Anyway, after that stupid, almost THREE hour long run, my knee started REALLLLLLLYYY hurting!! So now, I have been diagnosed with having torn ligaments and have to cut my remaining mileage before the marathon in half! So no more 20 milers for this girl, I just hope I don't lose all of my endurance in the next 3.5 weeks!

Then, my poor dad had surgery on his foot last week! So I went to my parents' house to spend some time with them!
He is doing ok, but getting around in this sweet roller-walker-thingy!
{I know you are jeally of Tom!}

Poor guy....he can't even drive till like January! Also, poor Mom, she has to take care of him till then!

 Fortuntately, we DID get to have a family icing party! I know, you wish you and your dad were this cool!

Between his right foot and my left knee, we are a pretty busted up family! And it's all due to running!!!  I should have stuck to swimming! (Although my rotator cuff is also torn, so that's not a much better option!)

So, see? Nothing too exciting! I promise I will be more exciting next time, though, and not wait another 3 weeks till my next post!!!!!

Weekend Happenings {A few days late}

Sooooo, I totally intended on writing this last night....but I got busy cleaning/spending time with my husband and my fav New Jersey housewives, so it didn't getting written OR posted. Sahhhry.

But here's what we've been up to!

This past Saturday, we attended the rainiest football game I think I have ever been to! It was pretty miserable!

{trying to stay dry!}

As you may be able to tell from the above picture, our seats were underneath the upper level, so we stayed covered. Had we had seats elsewhere (i.e., in the rain,) I promise you we would have left a LOT sooner (we made it till halftime)!

Please note how many people are sitting in the rain versus under the upper level...our section was pretty packed!

So many people had on my UNC poncho that I wore for our cake cutting at our wedding, I felt like SUCH the trendsetter! HA!

On Sunday, we went out to brunch with Travis' parents, who were in town, and then came home to work of several house projects!

Our mailbox got knocked over by the garbage men, so we Travis had to put together a new mailbox stand. I think he did a great job!
Here it is:

While he was busy with that, I  decided to make this wreath for our front door...for a grand total of $12.25! Thanks to Michael's for their 40% off coupons and 15% teacher discount!

Want to make your own? Get the directions here...although you probs don't even need them, it's the easiest project EVER!!

Then, I decided to put up a few fall decorations around the house...

{love my new table runner from Target!}

Super minor things, but I love having a house to decorate to seasons, especially fall!!! I'm sure I'll be putting more decor up later, so don't you worry one bit.

And then, I made Teresa Guidice's Chicken with Bruschetta Topping from the cookbook I got her to sign when I met her last week!!!
It was really good!!! (Even if she is cray-cray....that part 1 of the reunion, OMG!)

Have a great week!!!! :)
