Spring Shopping Spree!

Yesterday, I decided to go shopping. I needed some fun spring clothes and I had a Gap 40% Friends and Family coupon. After finding nothing at Gap or Banana, I decided to head to Old Navy, where my dollar could go further (I am a teacher, people, and have not gotten a raise in 4 years! Don't even get me started on that..!).

Anyway...I feel like Old Navy is SO hit or miss...and usually it's a miss. Well, let me tell you...yesterday, it was a hit! A big hit!!! Like, I-made-4-trips-to-the-fitting-room hit! So the whole time I was thinking....oh perfect...I am going to have all these cute spring clothes/things for the honeymoon, and I'm saving so much money with this 40% coupon!!! OHHHH but wait....when I got up to buy everything, guess what?! My coupon was for
Gap only.
It wouldn't work at Old Navy!

But, I had already fallen in looove with all of these clothes, so what choice did I have? Yep, I bought them all.
Oops.

Here's some of what I ended up getting:

I also got some basics (they were whoa on sale) like a cardigan, some pants for work and basic white tank tops!
I know I bought wayyyyy too much, but I seriously haven't bought new clothes in forever, and probably won't again for a while now! I just needed some fun new things for spring!

So if you need to stock up or just need some fun new pieces for your spring wardrobe, I highly recommend Old Navy! And, no, they aren't paying me to say that (but if they want to give me some free clothes, that'd be great!)!!!

Feeling guilty, last night I made Travis and his friend who was hanging out (watching all of the Selection Sunday fun with us!!) these super yummy enchiladas that have been circulating pinterest:

They were pretttttyyy amazing!
 Time to go make my bracket (My kids made a killer one today! ESPN should pay them...) and watch the Bachelor!!! Please, Ben, puuullleeezzzee pick Lindzi. I beg you.

Confessional Friday

Is it just me, or has it been the looooooongest week EVER?!?!
TGIF for reals.

Today, I'm linking up with A Blonde Ambition to share my deepest darkest confessions. HA.

1. I love my kindergarten team dearly, but today when one of them was out (and had no sub), and then another teacher went home sick, I was about ready to hurt both of them!!! After we had split up both classes amongst the remaining teachers, I had 31 kids in class. 31. All 5-6 year olds. Happy Friday indeed.

{this is totes what my classroom felt like today. a bit squishy}

2. Due to the reason above, I peaced out of school promptly at 4:15! This never happens...and needs to on a weekly daily basis!

3. I really don't know why I agreed to babysit tonight. After having 31 children today, the last thing I want to do is spend my evening with 2 more...UGH.

4. OK, enough about school and teaching...I confess...that my wedding countdown has reached double digits!!! 99 days from today! AHHH!

5. I confess...I am stalking my registries hardcore. I really need to stop! My shower is in 2 weeks, and I'm not going to be surprised at all!!

{didn't the invites turn out super cute?! Kathryn did such a fabulous job!!}

6. I am sooooo excited for March Madness!!! Selection Sunday is one of my favorite days of the year!!

 Every year, I have my students make a bracket, and theirs always does better than Travis' and any of his friends!! Let this be my tip to you, not to over-analyze anything....just pick what team colors and mascot you like! That's always worked for me and the kindergartners!

{it is SO convenient that UNC has pretty colors!}

Alright, now I confess that I can't think of any more things to confess...and it's time to go babysit. HOORAY!
Happy Friday friends!!!!

Wedding Wednesday!

101 days left! It's hard to believe we will be in the double digits soon for our little countdown!!! And trust me, I am getting my butt in gear! Well kind of. Not quite there yet. But I have been busy!

First of all, I think Travis is about to sh** his pants with all of the deliveries we've been getting lately! I have been ordering TONS of wedding stuff online!

I ordered some toasting glasses like these:
{and why yes, of course they are Kate Spade. Do you know me?!}

And some cute forks like these:
{so we look super cute eating our cake}

 Oh yeah, I changed my guest favors from a candy bar to a cookie bar...like so:
{only blue ribbon and stuff, not red!}

Then, because I couldn't find any anywhere, I ordered some Carolina blue paper bags for people to put their cookies in. I finally put the stickers I had designed on them last night and they turned out pretty cute, I think!

And last, but certainly not least...I have started working on addressing invitations. I was not happy to go to the post office yesterday to find out my lovely invitations are now going to cost $0.65 each to mail, after I had already bought the "Forever" stamps that only cover $0.45!!! UGH! I had to buy these stupid ugly $0.20 George Washington stamps to add on...sorry George, but you don't look wedding-y at all.

But, I was able to snazz up the envelopes a little bit by discovering clear address labels. Let me tell you, LIFESAVERS, those things! Being a teacher, I guess I have decent handwriting, but after my dear friend Kathryn had me address all 100+ of hers last year, there was no way I wanted to do that again! So...enter clear address labels-on clearance at Target no less.

I think they look soooo good!

{please excuse the crappy iPhone pics...I was too lazy to bust out my regular camera!}

Moving right along....my big project this weekend is to finish up the invitations and start making some ribbon wands!!! Who wants to help?!?!

Just a Little Bit Busy....

Oh heyyy friends! Sorry to my 4 readers (plus all those random stalkers-Mom and Dad!) that I haven't posted anything as of late. We've been SUPER busy around here! If you were lucky enough to get a phone call from me this afternoon (hello, minor emotional breakdown?!), you know how cray-cray my life has been!

First off, happy belated birthday to my sweet Momma, Sue! Poor Mom, my dad got a whole post for his bday, and Mom only gets a small mention...sorry Mom! I will make it up to you! Mother's Day, maybe?!

{kind of an oldie, but a goodie}

Anyway, bless my poor Mom's heart (I can say that now that I live in the South!), she ran a 10K with my dad this past weekend, and pulled out her hamstring on the very first mile!! I hope it gets better soon, Mom!!!

Secondly, and just as important, today is my little bro's birthday! I can't believe you are 24, Peter!
God, I feel old!

{I don't have a super great pic of the 2 of us, so here he is with my favvvvorite niece dog, LUNA!}

Moving right along, BIG things are happening at Casa de Ferg
(yes, that's our house name...I totes just made it up).

BAM.
Yes, we joined Costco. We really are old homeowners.

And let me tell you, it has been LIFE. CHANGING. Like who knew all of the crap great stuff you can buy there?! Like the TV's are so much cheaper there (just what we need...another television), and so are my beloved K Cups! We've been twice since last Thursday!

We had to go there in order to get stocked up for our big *housewarming party* last Saturday!!

We got so many wonderful gifts, we are so blessed and lucky to have such great friends! Plus, UNC beat up hardcore on Dook! That alone made the night fabulous!

Unfortunately, this was the only picture I took all night:

Clearly, I was too busy socializing/drinking those Skinnygirl drinks! Thanks Bethenny Frankel, you sure do know how to make a delicious beverage!

Hopefully I'll be back sooner rather than later for some wedding updates! I know you are getting excited already! HA!

Weekend Re-cap

Happy Sunday! Here's what we have been up to lately....

I'm going to go ahead and start the weekend with Thursday night, because I made this super easy and super yummy recipe:

You need to make this! It has like 4 ingredients! And it was soooo good!!

Friday, we had our first houseguest!
Travis' friend, Tim, had a softball tournament in Rock Hill, so he spent the weekend with us!
And he definitely earned his stay by telling us about this place...

YES. Frugal MacDoogal's. This place is incredible. It is a liquor/wine/beer warehouse just over the border in South Carolina. Everything there is SO cheap! They have bottles of Skinny Girl Margaritas for $12! I'm not a huge liquor drinker, but I do enjoy saving money on booze! If you are having a party, or just need to replenish your bar, I highly recommend going here!!!! Natalie, I know you are going to want to stop here before my bachelorette party! :)

Then, we continued our classy evening by eating some yummy Mexican :)

Saturday, I ran the slowest 8 miles of my life...it was SO windy!

{I felt like this}

I also had my first dress fitting! YAY! The alterations lady told me I am not allowed to gain or lose any weight, or she would have to completely re-do my dress! Ahhhh...pressure! Good thing my weight is usually pretty consistent...but I guess I won't be trying to lose a few lbs before June anymore!

Today, we went to our friend's baby shower here:

True story, I went to a baby shower at a bar/bowling alley.

And it was SO much fun! It was very laid back, no cheesy games, and all of our close Charlotte friends were there! We just sat around, ate yummy food and drank mimosas! So it was really not so much a baby shower, but just us hanging out on a Sunday afternoon! :)

{the only pic I took...and it's blurry! You can't even tell Steph-in white-is prego!}

Now I'm watching the Oscars Red Carpet!! Woohooo :)
Have a great week, everyone!!!

DIY Moss Letters

In the last week, wedding planning has gone from non-existent to taking over my life. I blame it on hitting the 4 months to go mark last week, and I am freaking out! How has this last year gone by so quickly?! I thought I had so much time to do stuff....not so much now!!!!

In an attempt to have a social life, drink some wine AND do a little wedding project, I invited one of my bridesmaids, Kathryn, over for wine night at the new casa last Saturday...little did she know what she was in for! In all fairness, I did warn her to not wear her best outfit. I decided we were going to make moss letters!! If you feel so inspired, you can find the directions to make your own here or here!

A few warnings:
1. Do NOT spray the letters in your upstairs bedroom with no windows open-you may or may not set off the smoke detector and scare the $*&# out of your fiance.
2. Definitely definitely DEFINITELY wear crappy clothes.
3. Plan on vacuuming up moss for the next 4 months. And finding moss everywhere and anywhere--in your house and on your body.
4. Hopefully you and your significant other have super easy intials-the T was a piece of cake, the M, however, was a huge pain!!

Here's our mess in progress:

Despite the mess, I have to say that I LOOOOVE Kathryn for helping me for 3+ hours, and I'm super happy with how they turned out!

Can't wait to hang them on the church doors with some Carolina blue ribbon!! :)
If you decide to make your own (which I do highly suggest), make sure you have a good friend and a few bottles glasses of wine handy!

Our New House: The Official Tour

A lot of my friends and family have been asking to see pics of the new house. Now that we have moved in and gotten settled a little bit, I thought I'd share the current situation of our house. Obviously, there are rooms that need MAJOR work, but for now, I think it works for us. For now. Here you go....don't judge our messiness/lack of furniture...

{entryway}

 {Living room/Dining room...haha we need some chairs for our table! And just furniture in general...}

 {messy kitchen}

 {Breakfast nook...Travis got me the table and chairs for Valentine's Day! We spent the whole night assembling it...quality bonding time!)

{family room}

 {upstairs extra room--office/wedding planning room! Yes, all of those boxes are full of wedding stuff!}

 {guest bedroom-please excuse my laundry laying on the bed to dry!}

 {guest bathroom}

 {our bathroom}

 {master bedroom...this is a top priority to fix ASAP!}

{my closet! This picture doesn't show it, but it is really big and I love it!}

So there you have it! I love our house, but obviously, we have a lot of work still to do!
Here's some pinterest inspiration of what I hope our house will look like some day:

OK...now I am a little overwhelmed! Who wants to help me redecorate?!?!
