Bumpdate {Weeks 21-25}

Now that I'm almost 26 weeks (tomorrow!), time for another bump date from the past month!

Size of baby: Napa cabbage
Weight gain: I can't believe I have already gained 25 pounds. It is what it is...
Maternity clothes: Already sick of them! Looking for more shorts and dresses…it is so hot!
Gender: I’m thinking girl this week.

Movement: Yes and Ella felt the baby move 10 days ago for the first time! Baby moves the most when I am hungry and/or if I am drinking something.
Cravings: Berries/fruit, popsicles, ice cream/yogurt, Greek food, pasta, Fruity Pebbles.
Symptoms: Sciatic nerve pain coming in strong this week. Every time I get up after sitting, it’s pretty painful. Also, I’ve had some cramping (Braxton Hicks?) and tightness on my stomach. I also cannot stand up for more than 15-20 minutes; my feel hurt so bad!
Workouts: Still running 2 miles, 4 times a week at 10:00 pace. Who knows how long this will continue.
If I'm being honest, I really am still running because it gives me a solid 20 minutes to catch up on my shows on our DVR!
Sleep: Good, but getting up at least once to pee.
Labor signs: Nope.
ISO: Baby looked GREAT at the ultrasound this week! Heart rate was around 157 and PSV was 30…which is a super low MoM of .96. The lowest it’s been! Doctor also discussed getting Trav’s blood tested again and/or testing baby to see if he/she is negative for the D antigen.
What I miss: Being skinny. And WINE.
Best moment this week: Seeing baby again on the monitor! The ultrasound tech tried to put it on 3D, but it was still a little too early for that. Still it was really cool to kind of see baby in 3D!

Looking forward to:  Putting the crib together and making some more progress on the nursery!

Anniversary and Father's Day Weekend

We had a very busy weekend!!
First up was Ella's best friend's flamingo birthday party!

It was at our all-time favorite "jumpy place," so Ella and her friends were able to run around and get all tired out before enjoying some yummy cake!

Sweetest friends! It's so much fun to turn 4!

After the party, Ella and I made the long trek up to Ikea. (It's only like half an hour, but feels SO far away!) I tried to assemble a dresser for the baby's room all by myself....and I messed up the screws. I got Trav to take over the dresser project (which I should have just asked him to do it in the first place, whatevs!) and he needed more screws since I had basically stripped a bunch. Whoops.

And you can't go to Ikea without getting a cinnamon roll!

That afternoon, Trav and I got ready for our anniversary dinner while our kids looked at our wedding pictures!

Trav also got me these pretty flowers and a card to celebrate 6 years being married!

As usual, we had dinner at Bentley's on 27, which is where we had our wedding reception! We go here every year and it never disappoints!

This was the view from our table!

This was only the second time I've been pregnant on our anniversary (last time was when I was like 6 or 7 weeks pregnant with Ella!), and I forgot how depressing it is to not be able to order a steak (I don't want a well-done steak!) or a glass of wine! But my stuffed shrimp was equally delicious!

They also brought us a complementary dessert to say Congrats on 6 Years/New Baby/Happy Early Father's Day! So many things to celebrate! :)

On Sunday, we had a very low-key Father's Day. Ella and Lucas got Trav a Cookie Monster card (that Lucas is obsessed with!) and an updated version of The Daddy Book. I made one when Ella was about 16 months old, and Ella, Lucas and Trav still read it together almost every night before bed. So, I thought Lucas should have his own version. You can see how I made the original here!

I also updated the kids' pictures holding the D-A-D letters. Can't believe next year we will have 3 little people to hold these letters!

Trav was sweet enough to finish up this dresser on Father's Day! Now Baby #3 has somewhere to put all of his/her clothes!

When your mom is craving popsicles, you get one (or 2) too!

Ella was also in need of a new bin to put all of her stuffed animals, as they were about to take over her bed. No, really, she almost had no where to sleep! So we headed up to Home Goods, and got a huge pink storage bin and danced in front of the mirrors. :)

We came home to one too-cool-for-school dude!! I was shocked he wanted to wear his sunglasses...and he actually left them on his head!

Trav grilled us some Italian sausages with peppers and onions for dinner. It was SO good. Even Ella ate the sausage!!!

We ended our Father's Day by reading the newest version of the Daddy Book! Lucas was too into the story to look up for a picture!

And that's a wrap on our 6th anniversary and Father's Day 2018!

Five on Friday!

Happy Friday, friends!

1. Yesterday was Trav's birthday, so I was nice and made him dinner (a rare occasion these days!).
My friend Rachel recommended this Red Wine Marinated Flank Steak with Cherry Tomato Caprese Salsa, and oh my goodness it was DELICIOUS! I cannot stand to eat steak these days, but this was an exception! I could also see using the same marinade recipe for chicken and having Trav grill the chicken. Anyway, I'll be making some version of this again for sure!

Also: I am not a food photographer. Obvi.

2. We also celebrated Trav's birthday by singing to him (Ella insisted) and giving him a new baseball hat and tickets to a baseball game!

You know I love a good theme, so I attempted to make him a baseball cake as well. It was somewhat of a disaster, but Lucas keeps eyeing it on the counter and saying "BEE-BALL!" so I'll call that a win.

3. Last Sunday was Ella's dance recital and oh my goodness, was it precious!

Her tap dance was to "I Like to Move It, Move It," which was hilarious, while her ballet number was "You Are My Sunshine," which made me ball my eyes out. (Also, let's not even talk about another dance that was not even Ella's class that made me cry! The pregnancy hormones are real over here, friends.)
She was not nervous at all, and loved being on the stage! We are so proud of our little dancer!

4. Also on Sunday...we found a mouse in our house! AHHHH!!!! Trav had spotted one the day before we left for the beach, so we set out mouse traps while we were at the beach. Well, we didn't catch anybody and just were just kind of hoping the mouse ran away (Ha! Wishful thinking). My kids were eating breakfast Sunday morning and Ella said, "Look! A mouse!!!" and I promptly screamed my head off and sprinted upstairs, leaving my kids in the kitchen with the mouse. #momoftheyear
I DON'T LIKE MICE, OK?! I am seriously TERRIFIED of them!!!!! Had I been about 12 more week pregnant, this mouse would have put me into labor, no lie. Anyway, Trav was running on the treadmill, heard me screaming, came down and was my hero forever and ever. He put the mouse in a shoebox, took it outside and let it go wayyyyy in the very back of our backyard. I still have PTSD from this whole thing, and my throat hurt from screaming for a few days, not even kidding!

5. Moving on! I finished a really good book while we were at the beach!

I feel like everyone has been talking about this book, but I promise it lives up to the hype! Girl, Wash Your Face was not only funny but super relatable (I think the author and I are around the same age) and I wanted to highlight or take pictures of basically something on every page. I highly recommend it...and thank you, Kathryn, for buying it for me!! :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Summer Bucket List

As you probably know by now, I'm a big list maker! I love making to-do lists and checking things off! Since this is my last summer with just TWO kids (ahh!), I had Ella make a summer bucket list (I guess I could say Lucas contributed too, but honestly he just wants to play with choo choos and cars all summer)!
So if you are looking for something to do this summer...here are some ideas!!!

-Pick blueberries (or blackberries)

-go to the park

-take the trolley to ImaginOn

-see the sunflowers

-go to a splash pad

-visit the fire station

-go to the "jumpy place" (AKA any type of gymnastics center open gym)

-go to the beach--CHECK!

-watch fireworks

-go to the YMCA and neighborhood pools

-make s'mores

-go to the zoo

-watch airplanes at the airport overlook

-go to the Nature Museum

-ride the Light Rail

-eat ice cream--CHECK! Although, I think we will be doing this multiple times this summer!

-go on a nature walk

-have swim lessons with Ms. Jocelyn
(Ella will be finishing these up on Friday! Ms. Jocelyn is THE BEST swim lesson teacher around!!!)

-attend VBS and camps

-go to Paw Patrol Live!
(we are going in a few weeks...thank Grandma and Papa for the tickets!!!)

I think Ella could have kept going with ideas, but we ran out of room on our paper! Anything really obvious that we missed?!
Cheers to a fun summer 2018!!
