Wedding Wednesday: Pinterest to the Rescue!

I'm not sure if you've heard of this little thing called Pinterest, but I'm pretty sure I have NO clue how anyone planned a wedding before it was around!!!! It's been such a lifesaver for me, and has given me plenty of amazing ideas!!!

If you want to look at all 1041 pins (yes, I am a little ridiculous!) of mine, you can click here!

Some of my fav ideas, courtesy of Pinterest....

Wedding Wednesday: The Hair and Makeup!

Ahhhh, another Wednesday closer to the big day!!! There aren't too many Wednesdays left, which is probably good because I am starting to run out of wedding-related things to write about!!!

The other day, I had my hair and makeup trial with Kymm from Who's the Fairest....she is awesome! My photographers recommended her to me, and I'm so glad I decided to book her!! The pictures of the final result she created at my trial aren't the best (took them with my phone and the lighting wasn't great), so I'm not going to put those on the blog, but I will share some inspiration for my 'do!!

Ok, so obviously, I'm not going to look like Carrie Underwood/Eva Longoria/Taylor Swift on my wedding day, but hey, I can dream! But Kymm did do a fab job with my side-swept chignon! :)

For my bridesmaids, I'm leaving it up to them...but I found this picture and immediately pinned it because I loved all of the girls' hair styles!!!

Haha soooo they are all sporting the side-swept chignon also...we might all have the same hair style!! Except Natalie...from what she described to me, it will look something like this: (am I right, Nat?)

AND she will look just like Carrie!! :)

As far as makeup is concerned, I want something natural, but a little bit of a dramatic eye. Kymm is going to use fake lashes, which I am excited about because I don't normally wear those!!

Ok, so basically, I want to look like Carrie Underwood (and have my friends look like her, too!) on my wedding day! Hahahah...it's not my fault she's gorgeous and has great hair/makeup in every picture of her ever!!!

See ya next Wednesday (or maybs I might pop in sometime before for another update!)!!!!
Woohoo 3 day weekend coming up!!!!!!!!!

Wedding Wednesday: The Music!

Happy Wednesday friends!!!!
I've {almost} survived EOG testing week!!!!!!! Yes, testing has impacted even us little people in kindergarten....a week of no specials!!! THANK GOD only 2 more days of that craziness!!!

Anyways, this week I'm talking ALL about the music! Mostly because on my recent trip to Ohio, I spent the entire 17 hours in the car listening to potential wedding "must-play" songs!

{what the dance floor better look like!}

We are having a DJ-Spintastic Sounds!! The people at Bentley's actually recommended them to us and the DJ, Todd, was super nice and not pushy at all when I met with him.
(Sidenote: some of the DJ's I met with were insane!! Like, they had "party motivators" come with them to get people to dance. Uhhhh if some stranger came up to me randomly at a wedding, that would make me not want to dance!)

Anyways, I wanted a DJ instead of a band because I wanted them to play the real song-not just hear a band's version of it. Plus, I feel like DJs are more versatile and can play more songs than a band!

I really hope our DJ is as awesome as our venue claims, and that everyone dances!! I'm so scared people won't dance!!

Hopefully, there will be plenty of great songs played....

like....

(our first dance song!)

Here Comes the Sun
(Father/Daughter Dance)

{I listened to potential songs for like 2 hours one night, and this one was the song that made me cry the least}

{Cupid Shuffle always gets me dancing!}

Annddd then of course my obsession with hardcore rap will come out....

{California Love...always a classic}

{Raise Up...I mean hello, the marching band plays it at UNC football games!}

{Back That Thang Up....oh heyyyy freshman year of high school, when I learned all the words to this fine piece of music)

{Ni**as in Paris...for all the times I say, "that sh*t cray"}

And, I'm sure our DJ will mix in some other songs, so we have something for everyone....
Just no "Hang On Sloopy," or any of that Chicken Dance nonsense....

Got any good dance songs that our DJ should play?????

My Ohio Shower!

OMG I'm blogging and it's not even Wedding Wednesday! STOP it! Who's proud of me?!?!

Anyways, I had so much fun this past weekend in the great state of Ohio for my second bridal shower!! Since I have so many close friends and family up north who weren't able to come to my Charlotte shower, Natalie (my MOH) was sweet enough to throw me an Ohio shower!!!

I made the LONG trip up to Ohio on Friday (8.5 hours blaahhhhh), and was greeted by Natalie and her presh poochie, Bailey!!!

Natalie's *awesome* bf, Cap (aka Brian) was nice enough to grill ALL of the chicken for our chicken salad!!!! Thanks Cap!! :)

Saturday was my shower!!! We had it at my aunt's gorgeous house!!! Here are some pics of the food and set up:

While we were waiting for everyone to arrive, we had a mini photo shoot outside...

{Fun fact: the 3 of us graduated from college 5 years ago on the day of my shower!!!}

Once everyone got there, we played a game...or actually I played a game to see how well I knew Travis!!! I only didn't know 4 of the answers, so I guess I know him pretty well (and one of the questions he didn't even know the answer to!)!!!
{haha...trying to guess the answers...IONO}

And then....the standard awkward pictures of me opening presents...UGH...

{Natalie got these for me...she said I should change my blog to "Keep Calm and Have a Mini Cupcake"! Haha}

{This is the most atrocious picture ever, but even I find it hilarious, so I am putting it up for all to see}

{Tara got me this super cute apron! LOVE!!}

{My sweet little flower girls/cousins were so helpful...they handed me each present, and then they basically opened the presents for me! HA!}

{Group shot! Minus Aunt Joanne who got stuck taking the picture!!}

After the shower, Dana came out with Natalie and I for a few drinks!!!

{Lovebirds}

Annnddd...of course, we stopped at Sheetz!!!

I had so much fun seeing some of my best friends and family this weekend, especially those I hadn't seen in a long time!!!
The next time I will see most of them will be for my wedding in one month!!!!! AHHH!!!

I'll leave you with Natalie, modeling for us the versatility of her bridesmaid's dress:

{Left: day (duh); right: night/wedding look!}
PERF! A dress that can be worn again! :)

SUCH a fun weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!! :))
